There are many types of Sony Xperia but I think xperia is more cheaper here in our country than galaxy s2 but the applications are just the same so I will recommend the Sony xperia but you must still choose what type of xperia you will buy. Make sure that the android and specs of xperia you will buy is the almost the same with the galaxy s2 so you will not regret in the end. Happy mylotting..

Samsung Galaxy S2 was superior to Sony Xperia series till now, Sony Has released Xperia S as the competition to Samsung galaxy S2 but now Samsung galaxy S3 is released which is better than Sony Xperia S. Sony Xperia S is a good mobile but Samsung Galaxy S3 is superior so go for Samsung Galaxy S3 ..

I would recommend Xperia, because I found Samsung is developing software issues frequently. (You can browse this MyLot for one such a topic particularly about Galaxy. I recently participated in that discussion.) I have seen 3 or more Samsung phones (not Galaxy though) which develop OS problems. Later they have to be formatted and reinstalled. Someone told me that they are using unlicensed script, and that's why they develop bugs. I'm not sure whether it could be true.

i would recommend galaxy s2 over sony xperia line devices. to start with, galaxy s2 has a 1.2ghz dual core processor with 1gb of RAM while compared to current xperia phones that are in the market, they only have 1ghz processor and 512mb of RAM. so the point goes to galaxy s2. second, the screen. the galaxy s2 has a super amoled plus display while xperia phone use normal lcd display with sony bravia engine with it. both displays are very good in their own functionalities, but for usual use, super amoled plus promises a better viewing with or without sunlight, because sony's displays have poor visibility while under sunlight. if you are into hd picture or video capturing, sony is for you. it offers up to 720p HD resolution while the galaxy s2 offers up to 1080p Full HD resolution. but if compared, sony has good results. compared to battery life, the battery life of galaxy s2 is promising. i'm saying all of this because my sister uses a galaxy s2, and im the one that updates her phone from time to time and i also personally use a samsung android phone, galaxy sl i9003. hope this helps you in deciding what to buy. ^_^ go for samsung! hehe. just joking, you still decide. :)
