I hadn't used mylot for two or three years. After this long pause, i decided to restart writing here, just to improve my english and have fun making some cents in my spare time. Anyway the question that came to my mind belongs to a different field. I went in the section "discussion i have responded to" and i saw all the discussions i have responded to in the last two days and in the previous two or three years. I noticed that people who post a discussion 3 years ago hasn't really increased the number of their posts. So for example: i responded to "someone" 3 years ago, and this "someone" had written a certain number of post. Now, after 3 years, his number of posts is 60, so that i can deduct that in three years he has written less than 60 posts, so less than 60 / (365*3) posts a day. Another reason is that "someone" has given up writing on this site, as i had done. This phenomenon is very usual in my previous posts. I found a lot of people that i responded to about 3 years ago, that decided to give up mylot. how could this phenomenon could be explained?

There can be several reasons why members don't come back and or take very long breaks. I can only assume they did as you, where you were gone for 2 to 3 years and decided to come back. Some members after 5 years do come back, while some could have offline priorities that may keep them from logging in. The nice thing about myLot is that they do not deactivate accounts. As long as we are not active the accounts do stay intact. You could be surprised one day with many and or one returning. I see it constantly and feel very happy to see some who return. Although I am very active, there can come a time where my offline priorities could keep me away, although I love writing here my offline life must come first. But knowing that I can come here anytime without limitations, I would try and come back at some point, time permitting. Welcome back and hope your friends return someday.

yes, i agree. the good thing is that mylot doesn't disactivate the accounts belonging to inactive people. In that case the number of mylot population would decrease...

I feel many people stop working here because of the low payment they get per post. But these people also forget that by working here, money is definite and also the knowledge where as in other sites we lose time, money etc.You concentrate on your postings here and write it with passion and the rewards will be seen for sure.I was busy in other things these day's and so couldn't be so regular here. BUt i love posting here

There are few reasons why a mylotter stop posting here. Maybe they are too busy and forget mylot for sometime. Maybe they did not find mylot exciting at the first days and never had good friends to have inter-action with. Have a good day and hope you will stay and keep active now

Maybe they run out of time or they don't like MyLot anymore and go to other type of online earnings

I am new in myLot and I still have the energy to write and write all of the time. Those who gave up has their own personal reason and I don't know why they did that so. But s of the moment, I am enjoying and earning at the same time. I will not stop as long as I have internet connection and I have something to write on. Welcome back and we may share different interesting topics as they days goes by.

There are a lot of reasons for this. One could be because of sudden lack of interest. Another might be that they no longer have any interesting topic to discuss or it could also be that they aren't satisfied with what they're earning. Another could be because they got bored.

Burnout is an awful, awful thing. And it can really be one of the driving factors to causing anyone to give up the myLot experience or any website for that matter. There are a lot of times where people rather doing the same thing every day, day and night, night and day, there are a lot of times where people do the same thing, every day, day in and day out and it does get rather boring after a little bit of time. The same thing would occur with a great website like myLot. Eventually, it is going to get tiring, no much how much fun we're going to have on this website, it can get days where it weighs on you. That is why a lot of people tend to get bored with myLot. It is important to take a day off every now and again, so the experience remains fresh and fun. Otherwise, burnout will occur and burnout is a rather awful thing for sure.

There are a lot of users who signed up and then just disappear quickly in here. Maybe they got exhausted in writing in here and are expecting better earnings. Hence, they just quit using or responding in myLot. Some, like me, give up some time writing in myLot due to time constraints. I do have a busy schedule now than before prompting me to cutoff time used for posting and responding here in myLot. I think that some real life issues can trigger a long hiatus and drought from writing here in myLot. Well, everybody have options and choices for what they should prioritize to do. It just happened that myLot is not the biggest priority for them.

Probably they gave up on waiting so much for the minimum cash out or run out of ideas to response or start a discussion.

Hi wmaths! The reason might be... they have nothing to talked about or just cant think of any interesting topic to write. They might felt a little sad or lazy to upon seeing that there aren;t so much response from other myLotters... or finds the earnings to be low. It is normal to stop and pause for sometime. But if your goal is to learn from others experiences and share your own too, maybe you will find it really engaging to keep coming back at myLot every day.

Yeah, perhaps they have finished the topics to talk about or they just got bored writing on mylot

The basic reason is maybe that myLot hasn't got a lot to offer. Even a small post requires some work to be done. Nowadays people want big money in small time. They may as well start their websites and stuff than write elsewhere. So it maybe the reason.

I love writing in Mylot. It's nice to hear people's feedback and it's also nice to give your opinion on various topic. If you will ask me, the only time that I will give up Mylot is if my time availability and internet connection will not permit me to log in anymore. Also, if I have another project from another online office that I need to focus on. Other than those scenarios, I will not give up Mylot :)
