long distance telephone calls

I have been feeling stressed and down emotionally for several months due to various situations happening in my life. Normally I don't use the telephone much because I used to have a job where I made over a 100 telephone calls a day and it just turned me off from using the phone, however, I found myself reaching out and wanting to speak to my online friends these last months. I went over board and made several calls, and my phone bill always remained high. This month in october I have not made one call and I won't make any more for a long time now. Do you make long distance phone calls Do you find that you make more when you are stressed, worried, or depressed?

my plan is a percentage of the call, with my phone company there is one plan for long distance calls, free but you pay 20. extra a month for that and since I don't really make a lot of calls it just was not worth it for me.

I always make international calls. I call more or less once daily call to my girlfriend abroad. To spend few money is impossible anyway you can save money by using a special price from your mobile company or by using skype or similar programs.

I think skype is an awesome idea..I don't use it but know quite a few people who love it and save a ton of money.

I do have a plan with my company but still I have to pay something and that is putting my bill up. I decided I am not making anymore long distance calls for awhile.

you see I find the plans that make you pay so much a month useless for me, if I never make a phone call, then 33 dollars a month is money wasted. That is why I took the plan that I did,

My sister and I can talk free on our cell phones (same plan thingie) and we have free long distance on the house phone to all the States and Canada... but the roommate's use it more than I do. Generally I use my cell and I've not run over the minutes on it.

My roomie has a friend in Kaufman who likes to talk - a lot so she calls and then the roommate calls her back because we have the free long distance... Ya know, blind people talk on the phone maybe a bit more because that's their main contact with other people who are too far to just walk to.

Whe I am stressed I talk to my adopted mom. Sometimes I talk to my adopted brother too if mommy isn't home. So the answer is yes. I do talk on the phone when I am stressed. I have free long distance on my cell. But I don't have free international calling.

Usually I prefer using skype to talk to my relatives who are abroad but sometimes when its some urgent information I have to make long distance call . Yes when I feel stressed or upset I talk to my cousins in Germany . Our mother tongues are different so we talk in English for hours . They inspire me with their positive and encouraging words . Yes the bills go up but I adjust somehow .

Like you, I got burned out on phone calls. I have only a couple of people I enjoy calling. E mail for the rest is good enough for me. I have a plan with unlimited long distance so I call who ever I want to. I guess I could say there are about three I call, my daughter, my brother and my dad.

I have a really good flat rate plan that gives me a hood price on as many calls to Canada and the USA as I want. Often I tell my friends to call me, then I call them back in order to save them sone money.

I just recently had long distance removed from my calling plan. Needed to lower my bills, since only one I call long distance is my mom. I just call her on the weekends on my cell phone. Since removing it, I was able to save a lot of money by doing that.

Two years ago...my son hooked me up with "MagicJack" and no matter how often/or not I call to Canada and the U.S., it costs me $3.99 a month, so I just pay the one time shot for the year! The initial cost was $50.00 for the "jack"...so the first year it cost me about $85.00 for the whole year, but after that it is just $29.95 for the whole year, or $3.99 a month! Just another thot...that works for me! Cheers!

I have heard mixed reviews about MagicJack, some people say it has screwed up their computer

It doesn't screw up my computer...I just don't use the computer whilst I am using the phone....using both at the same time, slows the computer down to a snails pace. Served me well, saved me lots over the few years that I have had it! I rejoice when at the end of the month, I don't have a horrendous bill!

I have severe depression with panic attacks. My daughter is bi-polar and has severe manic episodes. She had one this last summer and I was extremely upset and called my BFF in Oklahoma. I have a very good phone program and I don't pay extra for long distance in the US at all. I could talk all day long and not have to pay any more. Why is it that you don't have this type of program? You need an outlet. You need to be able to call people and talk to them.

it never was an issue for me as I don't make long distance calls, except for these last two months. And I do have a plan on my phone. I do not pay full price but it is not the best of plans, it is just cheaper than paying full price. The next time I decide to make a long distance call I will use a new service that is just 99 cents per call.

I don't have a line or post paid account at any telephone company as I also feared that it will happen to me also. But I don't call anyone just because I'm down, I make a call only if it is for business using my prepaid cellphone and this help me to moderate my calls. I hope that you will be on tract again and stress free person. Feel the gratitude everyday that you are still alive by saying thank you to our Lord, believe me it might help you!
