If you like coffee and it likes you (it doesn't give you migraines, jitters, an upset stomach or off-beat heart rhythms), enjoy. Here's why: Coffee wards off Alzheimer's by releasing a substance called GCSF that helps sweep beta-amyloid deposits out of your brain- the plaque buildup seen in Alzheimer's coffee fends off parkinson's. Why isn't clear, but the finding is consistent; more coffee equals more protection. Coffee fights diabetes. As coffee consumption goes up, diabetes risk goes down. More is better here, too: Risk drops about seven per cent with each daily cup. No Time to brew a fresh pot/ No worries. Healthwise, instant holds its own because it starts out as brewed coffee and retains some of the healthy substances in brewed. Also, there's a bonus. Instant has two- thirds more fibre. And that extra fibre helps your body absorb the other healthy goodies in coffee. So laugh off the coffee snobs. You know what they're missing.

I never knew coffee was actually good for you and can fight Alzheimer's disease! I better drink more coffee then I really like ice coffee with lots of creamy milk in it, I use to drink heaps but it gave me a bit of an upset stomach so I stopped. I guess it's alright if I drink coffee every now and then but not a whole 2 liter carton I love coffee, I simply love the taste and smell of it. That's why I love sitting in cafes to smell all the coffee and chocolate smells. I never realized how beneficial coffee really is, thanks for sharing all these juicy pieces of information. I might make myself a nice cup o coffee now.

Triple0 I love the smell of coffee too. I don't think iced coffee gives me the same 'kick' wake up as warm coffee..now everyone tells me it should not matter, but that is my experience. Have you tried chocolate flavored coffee...it's awesome.

Coffee always likes me; I wake up in the morning and I am driven to have coffee; it fills me with that adrenaline rush, that warm feeling that taste when I lift the cup of that warm steaming coffee; that smell is so delicious, I go crazy without coffee I need at least five or six cups a day to keep me happy; if I only have one or two cups a day I have headaches; the coffee is in my life, it keeps me strong and fueled with emotion; I like your post and its good to speak of the things we love ... coffee is great and can't live without it.

We switched to fresh brewed a couple of years ago because of the taste. Up to that point we just drank instant..wow I had no idea instant was in some ways better...
