Everyone is talking about eating healthier these days and that includes getting more fiber in your diet. Now we are told to eat brown not white, we should eat brown bread, brown rice, wheat pasta, have you made the switch?

I only eat whole grain bread and pasta. My family still eats white bread but I won't eat anything that isn't whole grain. To me anything that isn't whole grain is just junk food and emty calories. Whole grain foods are more filling and stay with me linger.

I agree, I haven't completely switched over yet though because I get a lot of food from food banks so I just have to eat what I get but I try to when I can to get the whole wheat. I don't like the taste of whole wheat bread but I will buy the white bread that is actually whole wheat, and the bread with different grains in it.

No! I like white bread and white rice. I rather eat what I like than follow some trend. See I really don't trust the Food Nazis. In fact I Never believe what they say ever since they called me stupid for not having a breakfast. If I eat too much too soon , I'm sick All day! So I will stick with the white rice and the white bread.

Even that is too much first thing in the morning. It takes me about 3-4 hours to get hungry after waking. I usually have only one meal on work days, and what I eat They consider junk.So to them I'm doomed.

I don't like brown rice. I've tried it several times and hated it each time. I have eaten whole wheat breads, some have been okay and the same for the pasta - but I will never eat brown rice I guess.

well, I actually eat Pumpernickel bread most of the time, so I'm not settling for, as Maggiepie calls it "that soft squishy sh!t"

I have always eaten wheat bread and pasta. Just not consistantly. I like brown rice but can't get my kids to eat it much. The bread they will so I have that battle under control. I eat pretty much whatever I like and can afford. I really don't care if I die tomorrow. Not much going on here. lol

we all need good health,so the best is to maintain good health by taking good and healthy diet in our daily meals. Those who take proper care will rarely fall sick.As you said the food we take can tell us how much healthy we are.

There are an enormous types and various tastes of food that we take in our diet. Many like many food varieties. Every one has not the same kind of interest in eating the food.Green and leafy vegetables are really good however no one like that that much when compared with fast foods.

I was making the switch before it was ever the trend. I want to avoid diabetes and get the most food value for the calories I consume. I cook brown rice, I like whole grain breads and bake some of my own. We do not eat pasta at my house, hubby dislikes it. He will eat my lasagne and that is made with whole wheat pasta. I greatly reduced white foods in our diet about thirty years ago.

I do try to make sure I get more whole grains in my diet. I've been pretty conscious of fiber, and vitamins, but whole grains is something I try to make a conscious effort to do.

Yep, I made the switch awhile ago. Some things simply do not taste very good, especially whole wheat pasta so I've started mixing half whole wheat with half bleached. Not as healthy as it could be but it's still healthier than all bleached and tastes a LOT better. I've been experimenting with seasonings (not salt) to get more taste out of the rather bland "brown" foods and have done pretty well but still have a way to go. I try to grow all of my own herbs and experiment with them in my healthier meals but some things just won't grow in this area so I have to buy them. I love the idea of knowing that what I grow is 100% organic.

No, I hv not made e switch and I don't think I ever will. I wld prefer not to restrict my diet s I love to eat junk foods and e not-so-healthy foods.:) I wld rather make up for all e junk foods that I eat by taking health supplements rather than denying myself e pleasure of eating what I like. :)
