Growing up, my family had always been a Verizon customer. Now that I'm paying my own bill, I can't afford Verizon. Not for everything I want (unlimited texting and calls), but I'm starting to wonder just how important that is to me. I've been looking around for the cheapest option available, but not sure exactly what I should go with. Should I just have texting? Just phone calls? Or should I go extreme, and get rid of the cell phone completely? What are your opinion? Any suggestions? Thank you all!

Depends on what your "cell phone habits" are & how much you are willing to pay, there are some pretty good deals or plans out there... Right now I'm with AT&T & the plan I have comes out to around $86/month... It includes 900 minutes per month that rolls over & unlimited calls to any cell phone carriers... And non-smart phone unlimited data plan, unlimited text messages & unlimited calls to 5 land-line phones... I go through around 2,500 - 3,000 minutes of voice calls per month... I used to have T-Mobile's unlimited everything... I noticed I make & receive a lot of calls from cell phones & land-line phone numbers I use weren't that many... So right now, I have close to 5,500 minutes rolled over since I've been with AT&T... I do get a discount for working in retail store so your bill will be higher if you pick the same plan... Or, you can go with some pre-paid phone companies, like Cricket mobile or Virgin mobile, that offer unlimited everything for $50 - $70 per month... Only draw back I see with them is their coverage area might be limited...
