awful superior, do you have the experience to work beneath an awful superior. recently i encounter a guy like this. but he is not our department manager, and i am the right person need to connect with him and his department, so sometimes i need his signature for our department's documents. he is really boring, and so hard to handle, he with very bad temper, and always lost his temper. yes, you are the boss, and you have the right, but you need slightly respect to your staff. what can do to come through it, every times when i see him, always make me uncomfortable, tomorrow i need to make the signature, and for this paper, there is some difference opinion for it, and i am very so that, when go to his office, to show this paper he will lost his temper again, and with some awful words. come on man, who can help me!

Hi mydreambymy! I have undergone similar agony in my earlier job. That boss got a transfer to the department I was working in and he seemed to have premeditated prejudice against me. He was targeting me. In fact, he was a dull head. And he was insecure because of his poor verbal & written skills. He had made it a practice to find some excuse for humiliating me and that too before a group of colleagues. When you are faced with such a situation, you just have to persevere. Do not lose heart. Take everything in your stride and do not show your displeasure or annoyance. Just keep your cool and show him you are not to be affected at all. In fact, you should make him feel worn out trying to demoralize you. As time passes by, he will realize and is bound to change. Even if he does not times will change and better things will come your way. There are such phases in life that one has to endure. It will make us tough and better prepared for facing bigger challenges. Keep your calm. Good times will come. All the best!

I had the misfortune of working under such a manager and he was my direct reporting manager. I had to face him everyday that too numerous times. I never saw him doing any work except drinking coffee and checking girls. That man really enjoyed tormenting others not just one but everyone. But the good part his boss was a good man and he had ridiculed him several times in front of us and that moment was gratifying. Just hope either he is transferred to other department or his reporting manager whacks him too.

I have had many different jobs, and I have had both good and bad experiences with my superiors. Some years ago I had a superior who seemed like a very nice person when I first met her, but as soon as I got to know her a little better I saw a different side of her personality. She had a temper and she was often in a bad mood. Most of us were afraid of her anger and we were never really able to relax when she was around. When she wasn't there the atmosphere at the place was completely different. I had to talk to her sometimes, but the rest of the time I avoided her as much as possible.

I had also experienced that. My boss is really hard to handle. I experienced her yelling at me as if I was her slave. I have exercised my patience for many years. Now she changed a little. Those were the hard times in my life. I had even taken some anti-depressant pills prescribed by my doctor because I was so stressed. My doctor just prescribed very little of the pill. 5 mg of the depressant it was cut into half. I took it for only 3 days.
