Nail Polish Remover for Eyeglass

Australia

Hi mylotters I had known that the "acetone" whom we called it nail polish remover is best for cleaning the lens of our eyeglass. I was at the parlor yesterday for my regular clearing of toenail (pedicure), I heard the beautician telling to her costumer that she works in an optical clinic before and she says that they are using nail polish remover to clean the lens of the eyeglass and she even tried to clean my eyeglass, she's right it was more clearer and the blurriness disappear. What you need is a cotton ball dump with little amount of nail polish remover, wipe to your eyeglass lens, that's it you will have a clear and clean lenses after. Try it!

That's a cool idea if it really works. But do you it can remove the hardened "mighty bond" that stick with my old glass? I can't use it anymore because of that.

Hi philyguy, your problem is another way of the story, I have not knowledgeable about it but try these tips: To remove super glue from metal use very hot soapy water. You need to be patient, and after a few applications, the superglue should be removed. Note that with very stubborn super glue stains you may need to use almost boiling water to get rid of all the super glue residue. As with any sort of stain, try to clean as soon as the super glue is applied as it's easier to remove before it sets.

I wouldn't try this on my lenses, even though it seems to works.

DO NOT use on plastic lenses or plastic frames! This is NOT good advice!

Thank you to both of you for your advise, I doubt it now if my eyeglass lenses is made of plastic or glass. My excitement overwhelmed me that's why I did not clarify about it because I've seen that my eyeglass is more clearer after the cleaning, this is my dilemma for sometimes. Once again, thank you for the clarification and additional information.
