I am petite, add the fact that I am an Asian (though generally not ALL are). I want to know some ideas wherein I could look any taller may it be with how should I wear my clothes, shoes to wear..etc. Do you guys have any helpful suggestions? Thanks! :D

I am 5'9 and I am jealous of my friends height, she is 5'. When I use to model people always say that I'm too short and stuff but in the real world, I am actually too tall. Now that I quit modeling I hope I was the same height as my friends. It just looks more feminine. But if you do want to appear taller then wear monochromatic colors. My trick before when going to casting was wear as black ankle boots, black legging, white tank top and black cardigan. The black on black legging and ankle boots gives you the illusion that you are taller and skinnier.

Hi tessa why are you jealous at your friend whose height is only 5'? I have one taller friend but she seems a hunch at her back , Shes very timid and doesn't want to get an attention.

Hey there Tessa! Oh wow you are TALL!!! I've watched modeling shows and yeah, even when you are tall in the real world, it's different in the fashion industry when you're surrounded with models who have towering heights as well like you. I've never thought of that, wearing monochromes would make me appear taller. I'd definitely try that from now on, thanks for the fashion tip! :D

I also have a friend who stands 5'7" and she always has the tendency of slouching especially that she walks with us who are way shorter than her.

Hey KARENAKADIMPLES, That sounds funny but I really have tried walking in wooden stilts! LOOOL! I have high heels but I rarely use them on a daily walking basis, only on parties and attending the mass because my legs easily get tired and exhausted. :) Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. ;) Hmmm, though I'd really try to use stilt while walking inside the mall one time. :))

Looking tall needs a combination of attitudeb and what you have to wrear. Here are some tips to look tall: 1. Stand straight and proud. Do not hunch your back and be confident. Feel good about yourself. Be happy with was given to you. 2. Wear dark clothes or stripe clothes wherein the lines are running vertical. Bright clothing tends to make you look wider. Do not wear horizontally lined clothes. 3. Maintain ideal weight according to your height. Gaining weight usually makes you look shorter. 4. You may wear high healed shoes but be sure to choose shoes that you are comfortable with. 5. Lastly, do feel tall whoever you talk with. If you are talking with a tall person, ask him or her to be sitted. If both of you are standing, then do not mind the height. Speak confident and they wiill see that you are taller than your looks. Good luck friend.

Hey Snowhybiscuis, Thanks for all the advice! :D Those sure are helpful ;) Wearing vertical lines will definitely make one taller and smaller prints/designs on dresses or bloused could make one thinner too, I've learned that during my grade school :)) God bless!

gagagaohlala Most will think of heels to make women taller. It works..but they have to be comfortable..platform shoes or wedges can be comfortable and you can get used to wearing them. Try vertical striped clothes or the same color top and bottom. With skirts you could wear leggings the same color as the skirt. Slack lengths are especially helpful as they can be a little longer while if too short will look awful. Other than doing a few things I would not stress...walk tall and proud and be happy.

Ha ha don't stress to much, my younger brother is 6 inches taller than me for some reason. Anyways, did you know Vin diesel is approximately 5'9-5'10? Doesn't matter what other media says, or what some internet sources say. They always make him look tall in his movies, because frame-wise he is big, but vertically short. The biggest indicator was his picture with Chuck Norris who is about 5'9-5'10, and Vin Diesel stood at same height. So what is his secret? He wears custom boots, they look like normal boots on the outside, but internally, they are like heels. Inside the boots, he is actually in tippy toes of about 2-4 inches. In clips of fast and furious, there are scenes where Paul Walker (naturally 6'2) is barefoot and Vin Diesel is wearing boots and they looked about the same height. So whats the trick to make one taller? Custom boots, but I thought these may be too uncomfortable, especially if someone snags your wallet. My tip, thinner looking clothes, less baggy clothing. Clothes that fit you will define your shape, and the thinner one looks, the lengthier they look. LESS BAGGY CLOTHES

Hey way2vision, How I wish I could use those kind of boots just anytime here in Asia, but our place is usually not the type where people could easily slip it on with them because of the weather here but hey I could definitely use one at the breezy malls. :) I do agree that looking thinner could make on look taller that's why I'm trying to shed some flab to achieve my desired weight. :) I also continued engaging into sports ;) Thanks for the tips! God bless you :D

Hi gagaga, I'm Asian too and like you I'm only less than 5'2". Wearing some belt below the chest can help too. I use also high shoes and I let my hair longer so that I appear taller. Wearing short skirt can give you also an illusion of longer legs plus I try to straighten my back so that I wont left behind from my friends.

Hey airkulet, Wow those sure are helpful clothing tips you have. :) I am not the skinny type though that's why I always second guess myself wearing skirt because I feel like it only makes me short. I'm planning to grow my hair long too :) Thanks for all the advice! ;D Chins up, we could always look taller in any way. :D

First, be happy of who you are. They are many people outside there who might be even shorter than you. If you want to look abit taller, I would advise you to wear a high heeled shoes and long pant that will almost cover most of the shoe. This can make you look taller.

Hey Mashnn, Thanks for the suggestion Mashnn, I tried that "high heels plus jeans" fashion before but walking in heels is sometimes a dilemma for me. ;) You know how much pressure it gives to the calves. :) You're right, it's being happy of who we are and "how" we look that makes us contented. I can always look like a 6 footer if I wanted to, say, standing with confidence. :D
