I am never rude to people who cannot answer back. I think it´s not fair at all. But if someone while talking is rude, I can answer with a very sharp tongue. No insults needed, only a show of how rude they are by being a royal lady ( which I´m no, with my friends)

No I have been a cashier, salesperson, and telemarketer in part time jobs raising my children. I understand they are only jobs, and that the people waiting on us or calling us are humans and only doing their job.
Now I can get really mad at these automated calls where they call you and tell you please stay on the line your call is very important to us.
Now I have hung up the phone and had a few choice words for that answering machine.
The very idea of an automated person telling you to hold on.
LOL

I usually follows rules like if there is a line then I will fall in line. i am polite at them in fact I sometimes pity on them whenever a customers shouted at them and make them feel humiliated in front of others.
But of course I rant also a complain whenever their service is not fully given, but in a manner of a good paying customer.
