This movie was based on a true story but fictionalized account of the making of the classic movie Nosferatu which was directed by German director Frederich Murnau. John Malkovich played as Murnau while Willem Dafoe played as Count Orlok, the Nosferatu. In the movie, Murnau made a deal with vampire Count Orlok to act in his film as the Nosferatu in exchange of getting a bite off of the lead actress Greta. Their filming ended horribly and I think Murnau kind of went crazy. Maybe I have seen too many horror movies because this film did not scare me just like the previous films I have watched the other day and yesterday. But I must admit that John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe played their parts very well. Malkovich was like this crazy director who would do anything just to make a good movie, for the sake of art. And Willem Dafoe was the creepy vampire who was always hungry. His makeup was perfect and there were scenes where he looked splendidly monstrous. Well, all in all, the movie was nice. I found some scenes really funny especially when Count Orlok was sleeping soundly while his head rests on Greta's corpse and while Murnau and two of his team were watching him. And while Orlok was pacing back and forth because he can't wait to bite Greta. ^^
