Hi Phillyguy Normally, an apple in 2D pic and black and white or the green, does not resemble much like one. So to make that look more like an apple, it was bitten off. That is what the official records and people at Apple say. For such type of questions, yes at times they do are appreciated but here at mylot, they have some misinterpretetions and so we should avoid this kind of discussions. I have heard and even been asked more weird questions than this during my career and also after I started working as a job consultant and groomer.

dear sids, Writers knows how to play when it comes to title or heading. I also posted one article with this kind of heading "What if Steve Jobs did not bite the apple" and I earned great number of viewers and readers

Hey phillyguy thanks for the BR here The Hugs is my way of greeting my friends and I use that almost at all places here. For the weird questions - I have two discussions - 1. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2421547.aspx - this is by someone else. I did not respond to this one as I never came across this at that time. I found that much later but by then i felt that the "discussion" part was over and if I responded, it would be me talking to myself. 2. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2416195.aspx - this was my experience and I was asked such a question. On this people also shared a few from their experiences. Hope you find them interesting.

LOL. I actually thought that's funny! I actually laughed a little. Steve Jobs bit it. Actually, I researched about it and found out that the apple logo is meant to have a bite in it to differentiate it from a cherry, so that's easier to tell it's an apple.

I'm glad you find it funny Yeah a fellow mylotter, the ever helpful thesids, also explained that the main reason is for the logo to really look like an apple because it's just a 2d image so it can be confused with other fruits or things and because of the bite it looks more appealing and recognizable.

I am not very curios as to why the apple logo is like that. That's because in my mind it depicts the apple that way, as bitten by Adam and Eve, as in the the bible.

So philly, in your case what was the first reason that came into your mind why that apple looks that way? or does it look like an apple to you indeed, just as i saw it?

oh I see you associate the logo with the apple in the bible. Then if it is it's good for Apple to use that to remind people about our sins. sorry i think what i'm saying right now doesn't make any sense I think I need to eat my "merienda" now haha

I think it is more about how will it appeal to consumers an apple is just an ordinary and boring logo but the bite makes it more appealing. Just like in coke bottles they make an ordinary bottle into more appealing one by giving it a "sexy" figure.

What I know is they intentionally used a bitten apple as a logo. A friend of mine said that the apple in Apple's logo denotes knowledge and intellect and they put a 'bite' on the apple to say to the consumers that, with using their products, they could learn and acquire knowledge and intellect.

hi Lara! yeah they intentionally do that because if not then why it is there right? I search about this after this topic get a lot of responses and some says that Apple use apple as a logo and company name as a tribute to Isaac Newton and they put a bite in the apple to make it more appealing and recognizable.

For people who loves poetry or writing, such question is not funny or stupid. Such heading or title is catchy and interesting. I've learned good ways to catch readers attention by the heading or title. And it's very important to be creative when it comes to writing.

Yeah I agree If somehow you see other topics I started you will notice that I love making catchy and interesting titles. It's a good way to attract readers and start a good conversation because sometimes even when the content is good but if the title is not interesting enough most guys will just ignore it.

I dont think there is any one bite it. this logo just want to tell us nothing is completely, and Apple too. But Steve Job also want to say that the marketshare he got too much as the remain apple, and all other companys is same the bited one. I think so.
