I dont know if any of you all have heard about this. A 26 year old man was playing rugby and broke his neck and suffered a stroke. Then when he woke up he claimed that he was no longer interested in women. He was engaged to girlfriend prior to his accident and worked at a bank. After he woke he broke off the engagement, became a hair dresser, and has since moved in with his 19 year old boy friend. This all seems a little too weird to me. I think maybe the stroke was just a convenient excuse for him to do what he had really wanted and maybe the stroke was just an easy thing to blame. I read the article on foxnews.com if you guys wanted to look it up. But i was just curious to see if anyone thought a stroke could change anyone so drastically, almost changing the person's personality all together.

Thank you!! I am glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I heard some people talking about this on the radio and they compared it to when people have a stroke and end up with an accent of some sort when they wake up. I feel like this is a very different situation.

It is medically possible for that to happen somehow. The brain is seperated in 2, the left half is the realistic, science and logic based half and the right half is the artistic and sensitive half. If he had a big problem on the left side and something snapped he might have had only the right half evidently left, which fact opened up the sensitive, artistic, somehow feminine side of him hence the consequence. Not saying it's what happened but it is possible and has been seen before.

I read an article about this on gather. I think its so sad that he suffered a stroke. I feel whatever makes him happy is all that matters. They do need to look into it though because it might lead to some interesting research findings. From what I read doctors are saying that this can happen because of the damage a stroke can do to parts of the brain. Hes got a boyfriend and is loving his life so thats great I think. I just hope he doesnt suffer anymore strokes as he was so young.

Thanks for sharing this information. This is the first time I've heard such news. Sounds to me it's more of an excuse until it is proven scientifically. Happy Mylotting!!!

Hello Noseclams, I think that fellow forgot that stroke was on his neck not on his head. I don't think he is speaking truth as per my feeling stroke anywhere on the body of a man cannot make him gay. Oh funny how people make excuses but they think they will befool people and forget that they are the only fools and people know it but don't say them fool as a courtesy.

My friend asked me this question, she asked if a stroke could turn you gay and I thought what?! I don't think I have heard of a stroke turning somebody gay. I know it could paralyze you or affect you i some way physically but I have never heard of this! How can a stroke make you a completely different person? This is unreal! I reckon he's lying or using it as an excuse so that he could live the life he always wanted but coming out through a stroke does sound pretty strange Lets see if it can be proven scientifically. But I reckon strokes can't affect your sexuality, personality or your beliefs. Sometimes, people make really weird claims but it i a very interesting concept. What if it's true?
