Daddy's Girl? Mama's Boy?

As the eldest daughter of the family, I have to say I am a daddy's girl. I'm closer to my Dad than my Mom, cause usually I have a lot of disagreements with Mom (for some reason unknown, we don't meet eye to eye). For most of my friends, it's also the same. A lot of them, who are the eldest daughters in their family, say the same thing. They are definitely Daddy's girl. I'm not really sure why is it like that. But is it the same for you? Are you closer to your dad than your mom? Why do think so? And does your position in the family (like being the eldest) affect your relationship with your parents? As for boys, what do you think of being a Mama's boy? With whom are you closer? And do you mind if people call you Mama's boy? I'm very interested with your views on this. :)

I think that I am closer with my Father, but it is something that has caused quite a lot of trouble between my Mother and I in the past. Because I am closer to him, I tend to spend more time with him and like to sit next to him when we go out for meals and things like that. My Mother is jealous of this because she feels as though she would like to be closer to me than she is. She suffers from mental health problems, and this has meant that we've never been as close as she would probably have liked, and sadly she is having to live with the consequences of this now.

I'm a daddy's girl. I think it just has to do with the fact that my dad and I can relate and we always have an awesome time together. My mom was the responsible one growing up, and my dad was the fun one. I love my mom just as much, and appreciate what she does more than life itself, but I definitely relate to my dad more which is part of what makes me a daddy's girl.

Hi. I'm from the Philippines. And I think I agree with you. I'm the first born and I'm a girl. I can proudly say that I'm a Daddy's girl. When I'm with my mom alone, it's very awkward. I don't know why. We're not close. I consider my dad not just only as my father but also as my bestfriend. I share secrets with him. But with my mom, I can't open my feelings. Maybe the only time that I can bond with my mom is when we go shopping. ;D
