I was channel-surfing one morning and I came across this new tv series, Switched at Birth. The series is about 2 girls who were switched at birth and lived in opposite sides of the city. One was raised rich and the other was raised in a very dangerous neighborhood and is deaf due to meningitis. But the thing is, they just can not switch them back. I mean, imagine raising another woman's child and loving her as your own, giving her everything and then one day, you'd learn that she's not yours. You can not just give back the child that was supposedly yours, you loved that kid and you also can not just turn your back to the child you gave birth to but was raised by another woman. Imagine being in that situation, be the mother or the daughter. It's gonna be one helluva complicated situation, huh? Have you seen this series? I saw this in Star Movies. :D What would you do if you found out that you were switched at birth?

It's like the teleserye shown in our country here in the Philippines. If I found out that I was switched at birth, I will not ignore the fact that knowing your biological parents will mean a lot. Once I found my biological parents then I'll try my best to catch up to lost time and will love them as much as I love my other parents. I know that the people who raised me would understand how I feel and would let me do what I want to do if they really love me.

It took me a while to think about what teleserye and boom, it hit me. Mara Clara, right? If it ever happens to me, I sure hope it won't be as complicated and as dangerous as what happened to the series. haha I would do the same, too. I would get to know my biological family but before that, I have to clear my mind because I'm pretty sure I'd go crazy. haha

Yup, it's Mara Clara. I like both versions of that drama. The one staring Judy Ann Santos and Gladys Reyes and the rerun starring Katryn and Julia.

I was just a wee kid when the first version came out but I used to watch it back then. And I seldom watch the new one since I always forget about it. But I've watched it a few times and I really admire how they portrayed each character, especially Julia. So believable, it makes you want to hate how mean she was. ahaha

This is a crazy story! Word to the wise, you should probably check your baby before you leave the hospital to make sure its yours! As th mothers, I really don't know how I would react to the situation but I would always do the unattemptable so I would tell the poor girl to go live along with the rich mom, and the rich mom keep both of the children because at least she can afford their expenses! And the poor mom should get visitation whenever she wanted to! This is probably a bad a soluton though!

That's prolly a bad idea since the poor mom will be so sad she might go into depression. haha but I think that rarely happens in real life, switched at birth. since we all have ID tags now and it's not everyday that pregnant women give birth simultaneously. Nurses/midwives/doctors are now very careful to avoid lawsuits. :D

It has been a hit soap opera topic since the 80's in the Philippines. It was titled Mara Clara. It was remade last year

I haven't seen this program but I did see something on the internet. The solution for the two families that I read about was to use the lawsuit money the hospital awarded each family to buy a house so that both families could live together and each set of parents could watch both little girls grow up and help in each of their upbringing. I thought that that was a great idea and hopefully worked out for the children.

well, thats great for them! But in this series, the other family was wealthy so they offered the single mom to live in their guest house. that's just great but I guess, things are bound to get complicated soon.
