So......what is your idea of the ending in Inception? I see it as the whole movie as a dream. Your comments?

INCEPTION is a movie which deserves more than one watch. Director christopher nolan involves the viewer through various levels of dream sequences,a complex story, and also topped with adrenaline pumping action. The director has smartly designed the ending of inception so as to leave the viewer guessing, and thus leaving a big impact on the viewers mind. I think Mr Cobb (Leo Dicaprio) was in the real world and the whole movie was not a dream... The suspense set by the final scene is a example of pure genius by Christopher Nolan. He lets you interpret the scene the way you like it. Over the years many movies come and go forgotten. The ending smartly ensures that inception remains in our thoughts forever...

I agree....it would let people talk about it more and let the plot have more meaning and depth. Mind boggling 0_0 but amazing.

I think Leonardo is not in a dream world anymore during the ending. The totem is about to stop when the film ends. Comparing it to in a dream world, the totem spin in a dream is continuous and has no slight change of speed, while in the ending, it shows some slow down in spin.

I have no clue what to make of the ending of inception, it completely bewildered me. I can't say it was all a dream because I really don't know, and I can't say its not a dream because of the events that take place in it... but I can say it's a great movie :)

To me it's not the whole movie that's a dream. Most of the story is how we perceive it, it's just the ending that is unclear. With that last dream, did they get out of limbo or not? IMO it doesn't really matter. He sees his kids and is happy. In his reality he is reunited with his children. It could be that they really woke up and the camera just shifted before the totem fell or it could be that he's dreaming, but as long as he's happy, does it really matter?

I think the top was going to topple before it ended. So what I think is that It was not a dream after all. I looped that scene many times to see whether the top was going to topple or not.
