Where cats decide to sleep

My youngest kitty has taken over my laptop case. He decided about three weeks ago that he would nap there everyday, a couple times a day. I haven't been able to use or move my case either. The case is sitting on one of our barstools, this morning he had evidently knocked it on the floor during the night and it was upside down. He kept bugging me till I put his bed, haha, back in place where he is happily napping now. Silly kitty.

Hi rosalie! :) I think cats like to sleep in warm places. When we had kittens in the house before, they always snuggled at the back of the refrigerator during the night time. When the morning comes, they always go outside and bask in the sun. So yeah, I believe cats like getting warmed which is very opposite to what dogs like ;)

You know what, it makes me wonder why they like heat so much when their body is full of fur ^_^

Cat on Bed - Very comfortable sleep
That's funny! Your cat must be really wanting something different to sleep on. Well I think cats do really have a tendency to look for comfortable bed fro them. I know many cats sleep on real bed especially in the US and I saw a friend who also do the same. Her cats were actually allowed to sleep on bed which I find it quite unusual because I know that cats are not even allowed inside in many Filipino homes. They are just given a place to stay either in a garage or anywhere within the yard but not inside the room and never on the master's bed.

Hello solonga, over here cats prtty much rule the house! When I was alot younger we had a Siamese cat who would sleep under my covers on my bed tucked behind my legs. She would get grumpy if I moved and poke my leg with one claw.

Hi rosalie, My cat usually takes his nap on my computer table just beside the monitor. His other favorite spots would be the ironing board, the top of the washing machine and the fridge, the sofa and the weighing scale. Maybe he's worried about his weight.Check out my profile, I have a picture of him there sleeping or more like meditating on the weighing scale. He has gone spiritual.

Dizzie, my persian cat, used to sleep on our sofa. She loves to sleep there and then one day my 2-year nephew caught her sleeping there and played with her.But then the there were some fur that stuck to his hands and had a cough after several days. Because of that, I decided to make a special kind of bed for Dizzie where she can sleep. At first, she doesn't like and keeps on coming to her favorite spot but after several days she got used to it and stay there until now. At times, she will go up my bed and sleep beside me specially when I am not at home for a few days.

Oh that is so cute. Good thing he doesn't sleep on your laptop. Cats get attracted to computers. Mine sleeps beside my monitor and puts his cute paws on the keyboard. Ah the cutest thing in the world! I also made my cats a 'bedroom' made out of boxes and newspapers. They pretty much enjoy sleeping there also.

my cats also have unusual (for the lack of better word) choices for where they'd nap. one cat, i usually wake to find him at the end of my bed somewhere just below my feet. he gets upset when i turn in bed or pulls the blanket closer to me. the same kitty sleeps in between the legs of my office chair so i have to be careful not to move around or the chair will roll over him (he's near the chair when im workin, on the bed when im there as well lol). the younger two kitties sleep in a pile in this tight space between the kitchen wall and the refrigerator; that or i find them again in a pile on top of the pantry

Our kitten uses the couch. It does not matter if I sit there or not, that is her sleeping spot. Sometilmes when I sit pin the easy chair she will sit on my lap and starting purring. But if I want to lay down on the couch in the afternoon, she starts coming around my feet, and so I have to get up. Oh but when she is awake, and I am on the computer, she will walk on the part below the keyboard, and when I am playing the piano she wants to get on top, or get on the keys. Trying to break her of that habit.

Another place my cat likes to sleep is under cloths and blankets. It kind of freaks me out because I'll be walking and then I'll stepp on him or even trip over him because I can't see him.

Cats are so funny when they decide to make something of yours their bed consider that item no longer yours LOL. My cat loves to sleep on my slippers. One night my feet were cold so I had to disturb her & take them away. She actually got mad at me for taking away her bed. She kept trying to take them off my feet with her paws until finally she succeeded in doing just that. Then she promptly laid back on them, gave me a dirty look & then laid her head down & went back to sleep.

Wow, that's totally cute. Since you're not using your laptop case, maybe you can just give it to him as a gift. He'll definitely love it if he can sleep in it whenever he wants.

At the house I grew up in, we had two bathroom shelves, one on top of the other, that were recessed into the wall and about two feet deep, high up next to the shower. My sister's cat used to reach the bottom one by jumping in from the bathroom counter, and he would stay there almost constantly. A few years after getting him, we got another kitten that would follow him everywhere, including that wall recess! It was like the wall was full of fluff! Later, my mom's boyfriend had a cat that was very temperamental. She would sleep in my bed and then hiss and scratch at me when I rolled over and almost landed on her. YIKES!

My uncle had kittens in his store for catching mice. And he would tell me he would spend all day searching for his kittens but they would never be found. They would be between rags, oil cans, boxes and what not. I think they like the coziness.

My cat seems to like sleeping on books. Everytime I put a book down he comes over and lays down on it like a bed. It's annoying when I try to read.
