Despite great batting display from W.I. batsmen in second innings, India enforced an innings defeat on W.I. in second test played at Eden Gardens. A very few people expected W.I. batsmen to fightback the way they did in the second innings after they were completely floored in the first innings. Finally they fell short of just 15 runs to make India bat again. Resuming at the overnight score of 195/3 W.I. through Chanderpaul and Bravo, the pair added 74 runs before Chanderpaul was out to Yadav. The pair put on 108 runs for the fourth wicket. Bravo went on to complete a brilliant century and was next batsman to be out but not before adding Another big partnership with Samuels who scored 84 runs. Once Bravo was out on the score of 401, W.I. resistance came to the end and the team collapsed dramatically from 401 for 5 to 463 all out giving India win by an innings and 15 runs and an unassailable lead of 2-0 in a three match series. Going by the late rear guard action by W.I., we may look forward to an interesting encounter in the third test in a dead rubber.

It was just looking like that Chanderpaul and Bravo may get this game back to a draw. But, by the superb bowling of Indian bowlers we have done it again. Chanderpaul got out by a superb delivery by Umesh Yadav and Ojha and Aswin made it easier by picking up Bravo's and Samuel's wickets. Hearty congratulations for the Team India!

Thank you thewonderboy. It did seem that Chanderpaul and Bravo and then Bravo and Samuels are taking the match away from India but as you have rightly pointed out an outstanding delivery from Yadav got rid of Chanderpaul and there India won half the battle. The greatest positive for India in this match is to see our fast bowler polishing the tail of the opposition. It is good to see a genuine pace bowler in Yadav who can take the wickets through shear pace.

The way bravo and samules were playing i thought that westindies will able to avoid the inning defeat and will give target of around 100-150 but all go well and bravo get and then samules didn't last too long and spinner did thier job to get the wickets early and win the match for INDIA with inning.

West Indies lost last five wickets for just 62 runs. Had the tail waggled a bit they could have easily set a target of 100-150 runs. This is normally possible in home conditions. Their resistance ended as soon as Bravo got out.

India managed to achieve a innings victory even though westindies played well. Windies batted superbly in second innings specially chandrapaul and bravo . Bravo made a superb century. Its the last wicket taken by indian bowlers give the innings victory. West indies resistance lasted only for 5 wickets. Making 400 + in second innings is a good sign for windies. Hope that we can see much more improved contest in the final test.

Brilliant batting you call this? this west indies team and its coching staff are pathetic to say the least, as soon as they are 4 or 5 wickets down just add 40 runs or less..
