I heard some people comments about your prospective employer might check on your facebook page to determine whether to hire you. School board has vivid example of vetting facebook on certain young teachers' profile page to determine whether he/she is qualify for their teaching jobs, or a simple party photo might ruin their images. Now, a fresh new story also involve on a individual facebook page. Some landlord might check on facebook page to determine whether this future tenant should qualify to live in their properties or not. When a party photo posted in their pages, the landlord might automatically determine, he might not be a good tenant, since he has vivid example of partying all the time. What do you think of it?

If that's their way on how they assess a person with their attitude and behavior I think that is too judgmental. We also need some party to enjoy our life and posting our pictures on facebook means you really had a great time on that party. If that's the case then you should customize your pictures on facebook. You better choose people to view those albums that are close to your heart or the people that knows you better.

I don't think facebook should be the one to blame in cases like that. It is the account owner who is responsible on how much information he should post not only in facebook but as well as in any other social networking sites. It is always best to set your privacy settings. Make your profile not searchable for safety purposes hehe.

Don't forget that Facebook has many security features available.. you can restrict people from seeing your facebook details.. you can block them completely or just allow them to seen things that you want them to see.. so it all depends on you.. and not Facebook that ruin someone's life..

Nowadays people can now say what ever they want offline or online. This facts may not be true or false allegation. What people believe in is the fact it was mention towards you direct or indirect. Rumor is also can be consider as life ruining experience especially if it bad or good

I believe so. This is the reason why you should not divulge everything in face book. Naturally, it's a social network so it gives the authority of people to check a part of your personal information. I would suggest that you only approve persons you know and close to you so you'll be assured that the information you posted in your fb would not be used against you. I hope you'll be wiser next time you'll open your fb. Don't be a victim.

I don't let it ruin my life. It's your choice what you upload there. Even if you want to share personal photos with your friends you can customize your settings and make your albums visible to specific people. You can set your profile private so people can't search for your name, or they only see the profile pic nothing else.

im not givng any advice but im thankful coz u had given me or others an idea about the effect of facebook or other social networks. i think you're right but it depends on how the viewer/reader understands what's happening to u in facebook. for me, i dont take that matter seriously when it comes to a person's personality. i'd rather meet that person in real although fb may really help a lot to know who about certain guys/gals but it always depends what's really the reason of that person why he or she joined any particular social network. that's all.

In this modern age it is harder and harder to keep your life private as it should be. Facebook is fun when you want to share pictures and talk to your friends but the privacy settings should be carefully considered. Share only with the people you trust and keep the account as clean as possible. In this case, no one could use the facebook account to do background checks or use the pictures against you.
