I was messing around on the cross stitch site that gives us a free pattern every month. This one is smaller than most of the others and would do nicely on a larger count. I belong to the yahoo group for HEAD and I just posted a question to find out why they feel the patterns need such a small count. I do know the regular patterns are rather large even doing them on 25ct so they would be massive on 14 or 18ct. But I looked at the dimensions on this one and it was rather smaller so it would do nicely on a larger count without taking up a whole wall when finished! Anyway here is the link for this months pattern http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/freecharts/Freebie%20Foxglove%20Ball%20Chart%20Pack.pdf

Hi Marylynn. Hope you had a nice weekend. I took a few days off since it was Thanksgiving and after making all that I just stitched for the last three days and watched movies. I will get you into cross stitch yet! LOL

I Marie, it has been a dreary weekend. Jim had to work so I was home the whole weekend. I am not into shopping when the stores are mobbed so stayed home. Plus he had the car. I hope you enjoyed your days off as well and saw some good movies. I love to embroider, I should look around for straps of fabric to turn them into something. I like to draw something on the free hand or trace and go from there. Have a nice night.

LOL don't let the colors scare you. those different colors sometimes only get used in very few places just to bring out the dimension of the design of the project. I would rather do an X than all the backstitching. I worked on 2 out of 3 pieces all weekend long. After making Thanksgiving dinner did not have to cook or get dressed. So just watched TV,movies, and cross stitch. I will have to get my color chart out on the Accolade I think its like 150 colors give or take. I am hoping to start that after I finish these 3 projects I am working on. That one will deffinately be mine. 3ft long x 2 1/2ft wide. Took my girlfriend 3 years to do hers. So I imagine it will take me every bit of that if not longer.

Oh my! You must be very talented and certainly ambitious...there is no way I could read that pattern as I worked the design. All that counting would drive me batty. Do you ever finish a project? How long do they take you to do. The only tapestry I have done have been the printed ones and It takes me years.

Hi MsTickle yes I have finished several 5x7 cross stitch pieces. My first completed 11 inch x 14 inch was a piece by Paula Vaughn. Made it for my Daughter-in-law for an Xmas gift in 2008. I just finished the April birthstone that you will also see a picture of here on my discussions. She is ready to be picked up from Hobby Lobby all matted and framed. Got the call day before Thanksgiving and was deffinately not going out in admist all the shoppers. So I will pick it up probably Tuesday. I know the girls are looking forward to viewing it that follow the cross stitch here. I am currently working on 3 projects all on 22ct. I also think there are discussions started on them all also. Oh and THANK YOU for the compliment on the picture of Psyche's Butterfly. It is a gorgeous piece. I prefer doing these pieces over the kits where you have to backstitch. At least these come to life with the changing of the floss without any backstitching so you can actually get more stitching done. Hope you had a good holiday!

Thank you for BR my friend. You and another myLot member have inspired me and I'm digging out my craft stuff to organise myself. Now all I have to do is pry myself away from the computer.

Thanks for the link. I keep forgetting that they automatically download without my seeing what it looks like. Having looked at it now, it looks like they use a lot of blending fillaments and metallics...

I went through the floss chart of the piece and there is only 1 using krenik. its probably a filiment. However you could use 3865 which is a very white to replace it or DMC has their own version of Krenik MUCH easier to work with. Just sent some to my girlfriend to use on a piece.

Also if you have a piece that says fillament or metallic, you can always use a DMC floss thread. My girlfriend and I finally figured out how to do that (lots of cross stitch reading I do LOL)

I love that picture! I will have to find out how to do it on a bigger size because I hate working on 25ct even though I have a bunch of it I got when I the material to do that first pattern. I use the pattern that came on the wrapper of the material because there were a lot less colors and it looked easier. I just hope I can get back into it some day. Maybe I will get caught up on discussions and then work on it. Have a great weekend!!!
