do you really know the meaning of honesty

i see some people believe that honesty is the best policy. but they would like in some things. the reason is that not every thing should be shared to other people. there are things you have to keep private about your personal things. so that if needed to lie to protect your privacy then you must. but it is not lying at all or being dishonest. it is just keeping your privacy. but i guess it is true. we don't have to shout to all the world our personal life and other things we hold dear as secret. we have the right to keep some of the things private but that does not mean we are lier indeed or dishonest at all. maybe lying for someone means protecting another person's reputation then you must do so. you must lie for them or keep their secret as long as you don't violate the rights of other people by doing so.
