But my neices daughters in another state..OMG..They are way beyond out of control ...Their mother can not control them..They curse like a sailor and even get on facebook asking if anyone wants to come smoke with them....outrageous!!! I really feel terrible for parents who lose control of their children. Do you have embarrassing relatives...

Yes you are right jazzy, our family is our family, true enough but sometimes its better not to get involved in the lives of other even if its family.. Their mother feed them and take care of them and they treat her like that.. I refused to put myself in a position to have to rumble with one of those little hot chicks.. They don't respect their mother so I know they would not have any respect for me and I am much older than their mother.. But thanks very much for your reply....

I am embarrassed of my younger sister. She is a single mother who spends more her nights working and her days with her boyfriend. She yells at her kids and swears at them. she tells them the answers when they need help with their homework because she has no patience to help them. Last night her son was in a school performance and could not find his mom. My husband told my sister that he was coming towards her and she said Don't worry he'll find us!!! It was the way she said it that made me embarased. I am an education major working towards my Masters and know what I am talking about. She is a college dropout, who works as a waitress at night and has my parents babysit the kids.

Wow, randy your sister sounds like a real issue. I don't know why piople have children and mistreat them,,They just Don't they realize that because the children are a little antsy that theu are still children and are not here by request from them... It really sounds like your sister wasn't necessary ready to become a parent. Don't intend to sound mean or judgemential.

I have to say that I have been embarrassed by my family. Sadly, it is the case for me. And unfortunately, it's been on countless occasions. More occasions than I can really count and name.

Yes, I used to be embarrased by my family. My daughter was hyper active when she was little and would invariably get herself into some mischief whenever we went out. She was loud, obnoxious and illmannered. My mother is very outspoken and tended to embarrass me sometimes also. And my granddaugher does curse like a sailor and used to wear the gothic makeup and clothing. Ugh!

I think that we have all been embarrassed by our families at some point, but we just have to remember that we love them and that we'll always be there for them as they'll be here for us whenever we should happen to need them during the course of our lives. During our teenage years particularly we can think that our families are embarrassing to us, but as we get older we soon come to the conclusion that it isn't actually as bad as we might have thought, and we realise that the love that we share with our family will always be here.

Well I was in a few situations when my mother embarassed me... She's just sometimes very rude, I mean everything that bothers her she says and doesn't care if it will hurt others feelings..Happened a few times at a restaurant, when she said some rude words to a waiter just because she waited too long for food or things like that.. she's usually ok, it's just that sometimes she's a bit rude..

contrary to the discussion, my family is my source of pride and inspiration. i never have any instance where i am embarrassed by my family. probably, i am lucky to have them in my life. your story seems to be believable, and yet i am not sure if the members of the family feel ashamed of each other. probably, there is a reason why we are relatives to them.

I have been embarassed by my family sometime in certain situation. Though it happens a couple of times, for me it is still not enough to be ashamed of my family. I just put into consideration all the good things that I had shared with them and I think that's counts more than the embarrassment I felt. I just love my family and I will accept them for what they are.
