What compromises are you making?

In today's world we all find ourselves making compromises in order to get by. With the tough financial state of things, what have you found yourself doing, that you never thought you would have, in order to make ends meet? Rent/mortgage is probably the biggest bill that we all have to be concerned with, and probably the most crucial one, too. I know that back in the day folks would strive to move out of public housing, ghetto areas, the projects, etc. Moving to the suburbs was a sign of success. How do you guys view living in these areas, today, where you are sure to pay a cheaper housing bill than you would in other areas. After all, public housing makes sure that your rent only takes up 30% of your income, and nothing more. Do you think the same shame is attached to living in these types of places, including subsidized housing, as it used to be?

I have had to cut back in many ways lately, I stay home a lot lately so I don't have to spend money, its hard as I am not really used to watching every little cent and worry about the bills being paid but I guess we are all doing it hard at the moment so we just have to soldier on.
