jaiho: thanks for the response. You are right. Javed Akthar has criticised about this song. I also saw that. But many other big personalities like Amitabh Bachchan have liked it. You do not like it. No problem. Is this song famous in Philipines also as in China and Japan?

No sir, sorry to say but this song is never heard here in my country. Don't get me wrong friend. I just responded to one mylotter about songs and I wrote there (days ago) that my favorite song (Indian song) is a Tamil song "En Swasa Kaatre" and it's true. An Indian friend send this song to me 4 years ago and I was really hooked. Anyway, you can figure out how music addict I am from my username alone. I've known Rahman for many years before "Jaiho" and I am listening to Rahman's songs and have a compilation of his hit songs

I don't know if you have heard this or not but in any business, it is not the owner of the business who creates the business it is the public who creates it. Same with this, in real the song is just a piece of sh*t, this is by the people who are listening to it and make it popular. The lyrics are so dumb, the music is so simple, the voice is good although but there are other songs also so much better and great than these but why do people just tend to listen these songs only?

Yes, this song is nothing but a simple English comedy song. Where nowhere pure music can be seen, this is just comedy. I hate this song, not because it has got so much success in so less time, but because people like this type of songs only where there is nothing music, just piece of craps mixed together.

I also agree with you. It the users or public who create a business and make it big. Infosys has been made a big company by its users. Similarly this song - a very very simple song has been made a grand success because the public feel as if they are singing it.

The song was initially sung by Dhanush, son in law of super star Rajanikanth. Dhanush has also said that the version sung by Sonu Nigam's son also sounds very good.

Hi Ravi, I initially was not eager or hooked n to this song. Being a south Indian I know Dhanush and the Tamil film industry well and I felt it was just unnecessary hype created. But once I saw the video I changed my opinion. I feel this song is a ht becasue- 1. Dhanush's Nonchalant way of singing , his expressions, his next door boy image, and of course his voice suits this song. 2. The song is in Tanglish (Tamil + English ) and is very funny making people laugh. 3. It is about a guy who sings after a girl spurns him. Since many of us have been in that situation we can relate to it. On the whole a good song which has become a viral craze and Dhanush has achieved fame abroad just like his father in law and superstar Rajni.

I have heard this song on TV I think. It certainly is a magnetic attraction, though obviously we can make out lyrics only marginally. But lyrics are hardly important when melody is attractive. The video is very good. One can see how the orchestra group including the singer enjoy it. . I didn't know about its popularity in many countries though. Liked it!

The good point about this song is that people of all ages like it. Yesterday while returning from Pondicherry we heard in Sun FM radio this song being played three times in repetition thanks to public demand. Yes. this song is now popular in China and Japan--one point it is heard by the people in the same form because it contains a lot of english words.
