Some astrology sign people don't get hired.

I was reading a news article the other day that some Companies do not hire people of some astrological signs, because of certain inherent habits and mentalities those people have. It does make sense, no doubt. That was quite interesting and new to me. Have you heard about similar practises ?

There was a newsitem not long ago, about maybe a Japanese or Chinese company, who did not want Scorpio's and some other sign I forgot as an employee. It is somewhat interesting that they "discriminate" not on Chinese astrology signs but on western. It certainly is not the first time that people do this. Much worse in the 80íes was a British insurance company who refused to insure certain signs or at least where investigating that option. If recruitment staff was wise, they would use the whole birthchart and not just the sunsign, if the person involved would give permission to use that option.

Any company that can't handle Scorpios is a weak company.Scorpios can be difficult but are mostly hard working an sensible.My mom was a Scorpio!

never heard of this, ever.. but this is just discrimination. this would be exactly the same as not hiring someone based on colour, race, gender, sexuality, disability etc.. so i'm not REALLY sure it's true.

I've never heard of that. It sounds like they need to be really careful. It could be called discrimination.

Hi Green, in fact this is the first time that i ever heard that employer employed staff based strictly on astrology sign. So, that employer should be very superstitious. So far, all my ex-employers hired their staffs based mainly on working experiences and study levels. Never had i heard that they employed staffs based on astrology. What happen if one day, the employer who hired staff based on astrology incurred loss? He just sacked all his staffs due to that problem? Sounds very foolish to this modern era.

There are just some people who enjoy playing God by predicting the future and judging other people, like what the other post by estherlou said it's discrimination, and I would also like to add that it's not only discriminatory , it also prejudicial, it's prejudice because you already handed down judgement on a person or he's performance even before you tried him out based only from some crazy astrological sign

hi, i think as of date, it is the talent that employers should look forward rather than his / her astro sign. Talents, educational qualifications, work experience would be more beneficial to a company as person with these qualities can work better. Though I work for a traditional, family oriented group, they do believe in astrology for new launches, new planning/ foundation etc or consult a astrologist about the probabilities of success in that particular field, but they never consulted him for hiring a person. There are few corporates which conducts few Behavioral Tests of their staff to find out their negative/positive points and further grooming of them.
