There is nothing wrong for girls to learn martial arts. In fact personally I think girls with martial art knowledge are usually self-confident and strong in will. But it is also a common opinion that such kind of girls are rude and hard. I feel it is not logical to assume that way as rudeness and untidiness is a matter of personality rather than connecting to learning martial arts. Like you said: your friends don't treat you as a girl. Why do they behave in such a way? Are you responsible for their behavior? Do you always make them feel you are more like a boy than a girl? That is something you yourself know. If you behave like a boy more than a girl and always hang out with boys more than with girls, I guess that is the result. You know what you want.
