Eating food needs Lot of patience and it is not something not to be taken hurriedly. Because of the hectic schedule we have these days and it is only because of earning money with which many are engaged with....has really spoiled the good time of eating. I came across several people who just hurriedly eat their food without masticating it at all...and are sure for facing health problems... How do you eat....?? Please share your transparent comments..

When I am in a hurry, If it is dry I chew my food with water and swallow it one by one, so that I may not encounter any uncomfortable digestions in my stomach. I regret before when I was in a hurry and I only swallow my food without chewing, I experienced irritations in my stomach and feels i am having a heavy head. Well, after that time I felt it, I never try to swallow food without chewing on the next day.

Friend, hope you might have already taught in your child hood days as to how food should be masticated and only then swallowed. This gives us a good digestion and also keep our health well. Any how because of the work schedule many have forgotten the importance of food, but one should understand as to how much food is important to us to maintain our health. There is lot of item still to improve ourselves to have a good health isn't it...?

Eating slowly and chewing up the food is good for health. In today's efficiency or productivity oriented work culture, the pressure to achieve the work target has made time away from work a luxury. Usually lunch is eaten on the work desk while your eyes are still on your work staring at the monitor screen. Breakfast is just a cup of coffee at home or in the office if traffic is heavy on the road. Dinner is the only time that can be eaten on the meal table at home with family if there is no overtime to do. Life as a white collar worker. It was me a few years ago. Now I have more time and more freedom in my job. I am eating a proper lunch. I think I chew more slowly. I also eat more. But I always enjoy my food, even when I ate them on my work desk. My health is always good. But we never know about tomorrow.

You are right and I totally agree with you...Eating is not an action .It is a natural process which needs its own time to do that and to keep ones health one must masticate the food well and only then swallow. Because you have adopted some habit of eating slowly you are able to manage good health...Good luck...have a nice day...

Thank you for sharing this with us, busybee. It is best to eat slowly, no matter what others think. We need time to chew the food and break it down to smaller pieces so that the digestive enzymes will be able to convert it to soluble form, ready for assimilation. Eating hurriedly is a waste. When I had to rush to work, in a bowl, I put oatmeal with some water in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Then,I add the coffee, milk, either brown sugar, banana or marshmallows, then sprinkle with sunflower kernels. There, I have my carbohydrates, proteins, some vitamins and minerals and I enjoy it. I always need coffee to start my day, but it's in my concoction. This lasts me till lunchtime. Have a great day, my friend.

I agree with you for your suggesting to eat slowly and not bothering what others think...that is right...It is we who are eating for ourselves to maintain a good health and why should we think of others...Not at all necessary.... Your eating food is highly appreciable and great to note that. We are earning to be healthy and should not eat hurriedly to spend money to the doctors..

In certain countries, eating is like a religious ceremony that contains the washing up of hands, praying over the food and consuming the food with peace and harmoney. Parents never allow their children to discuss with arrogance. They encourage to be silent and eat slowly without putting any pressure. They encourage us to be pleasant but not to make noise but be aware of the fact that we are eating. They never allow the children to criticise or fight . They never allow them shed tears over the eating plate. They encourage the children to be thakful to God for giving this meal. So they never allow neither to be too much emotional nor to be too gloomy but to be dignified and be pleasant.

Yes, I agree with you totally....children who ever eat in this fashion are sure will have good health and positive thinking which is a must to lead a better life. And, if they are under the control of their parents that is more advantageous as they become principled and make a good habit...which makes them the real gentlemen...

Thank you upbringing this discussion to this forum. I don't really know the goodness of chewing our food when we ate. I knew mostly people eat their meal hurriedly for some reasons like my ever my mom told me to do. I am a late eater, I mean I dislike to be hurried when eating and I didn't like that behavior. I just wanna to enjoy or savor the taste of my food. I don't want to eat in place where there are too many people. I felt I was irritated by them because I could not tolerate people who stared at me when I was eating something. That's pathetic. I just don't want to be watched by them when I ate my meal.

Well,it is after all for the money we are working which buys the food we eat to keep ourselves to earn in a better way. Even now you have ample time to focus on eating habits and can make a change which improves the health conditions...provided we take it serious...
