When do OFWs cease to be called Modern Day Heroes?

Heroes of the past generations are remembered and immortalized in books, in monuments and the like. Soldiers and all those in uniforms are heroes who offered their lives safeguarding, maintaining and upholding the peace and security of the nation and its people. When they die, they are honored and buried in the Heroes Cemetery and their families get pension for life. I do believe that heroes are made everyday. Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs)are called Modern Day Heroes by the past and present administrations for their contributions to the nation's economy. Their remittances amounting to billions of US Dollars annually, help keep the economy afloat in times of economic crises. Now I have trouble analyzing in what category of heroes are they? Are they seasonal heroes with expiry/use by date, and cease to be called modern day heroes when their usefulness ends? Enlighten me with your thoughts.
