hey guys! this interest came across me while browsing the net and a memory was played in my head. I remeber when i was a kid, I wanted a white tiger as a pet. because it looked so cool and besides i think that want was build up because of watching too much discovery channel : into the wild edition...and I wanted that white tiger to grow up along with me, and will like make a pack and play together like brothers...but that dream can never come true...because first of all it's illegal here in our country to own a tiger (a white tiger!) AS A PET or in any country...and if the govvernment find out, they will suggest to donate your tiger to the nearest zoo (BOO!) and i don't want it like that..true that the tiger might have a better living but I don't want to keep him in a cage..I want him to be free to roam...but ofcourse If I did own a tiger i would buy a big land for him to roam around to like a jungle...so that he can't disturb any other humans..

If you did have a tiger I like the idea you would let it roam around in the jungle. Tigers are wild animals and should be treated like one. I hear of people who own them in the USA and it isn't good! In some states you can own them. I have heard of tigers being kept in apartments and houses! In Texas you can own them as they have inclosed closure. Usually the closure is not the size for a tiger to roam and sometimes they have known to get out! Tigers are not pets and you can not tame them! Tigers can and are known to kill their owners! The best place for a tiger is in its natural enviroment!

that's kind of cool to have a pet as a tiger but at the same dangerous or a little expensive..i think tigers look cute too because they're like big cats..the only problem is we can let them roam around as normal pets if not inside a cage we must tie them up..there is a possibility they might hurt us..we'll never know..

hey there! I somehow agree with you too! it's a bit expensive, raising a tiger as a pet also dangerous, but I think you will need a very responsible and strong person to take care a tiger! thanks for responding!

actually, there are states in the United States where it is legal to own a tiger. I can't remember which states they are, but I do remember seeing a program on television about the Tigers that live in captivity in backyards of people's homes. In fact, the show that I watched said that there are more tigers living in captivity in America, the pets of various people, than there are in the wild. That's pretty shocking. In a lot of states the laws about owning exotic animals are really lacks and people get away with owning animals either legally or illegally. The show also discussed a pet tiger in his apartment – they only found out about it when the tiger but somebody and they had taken to the zoo. Can you imagine having a big tiger a little apartment? Crazy.

well, it really is strange to raise an animal...most likely a tiger in an apartment! but that would be so cool, training your tiger to become a house pet! but still no matter how you teach them how to behave, you must remember they're true nature as a predator. and take caution of this. :)) thanks for responding!

Not so long ago there's a dog owner who got eaten by the dog simply because he forget to feed them. Now imagine that you forget to feed a tiger...

Hahaha when we were young we dream "BIG". I too had the same dream to have one white tiger for a pet, i guess it was the influence of the Power rangers that 1 wanted a white tiger for a pet. but, then again my father said to me that it was not a good idea because we had a dog, and cats and dogs fight. ahahaha the good old days. Having a pet tiger is not really that bad, you just need the money to make it happen, a large amount of money. and good lawyers.

tiger - Caged Jungle
Tiger for a pet! How ridiculous a child's wishes could be? I could never wish to have a tiger for a pet even in my wildest childhood dream. Tiger is a dangerous animal and I can't even come close to them even if they are caged. Yes, you are right, the right place for them is the jungle. I don't think they are made to stay in a cage. They should be set free in the jungle so they could enjoy their live among with other wildlife.

It would be a cool pet, indeed, and besides illegal, it has some other characteristics that make it not much practical, because a cat that big, obviously requires a large quantity of space to roam, and a huge quantity of fresh meat everyday, so, I am afraid that this type of pets are left only to very wealthy people, as for myself, I am in love with the big cats as well, and as a young kid, I also wanted to have, not a tiger, but a local big one, a jaguar, :)I remember the day I saw the first one, at the zoo. Either way, they are best on the forests, living in peace, and as far away as possible from humans.

Who wouldn't, but it will cost a whole lot of money to acquire one and almost impossible because of it being an endangered species and all. I would suggest to stick with dogs. There are people who buy lions and what not in South Africa and they say it cost around 150,000 RAN. I don't agree though people buying them as pets because tigers being very dangerous they are suppose to be wild animals wondering the jungle.

I want to have a pet tiger too in my dreams. I think we just leave them in the wild,it is to hard to take a care of a wild animal like this.

Whoaw no way, I wouldn't want a tiger as a pet. It's so big and wild and it's not really easy to tame one. But I know that when we are young we tend to dream the impossible dreams.

Wow! You must be really a tiger fan lol. But seriously, aren't you scared to have a pet like tiger itself? Because as far as I know, a tiger is as dangerous animal just like others and all I for sure is that such kind of animal can also be seen possible in Animal Zoos, not in anywhere else publicly that will cause people to be in danger.

hi there! first of all thanks for responding! actually, i'm more of a panda fan! haha..but I do love tigers! yes, animals like tigers are pretty scary to have as a pet..but it's not really they're nature to harm others, it's just the way they are..they are preadators ofcourse and low species are considered as they're prey. It's what they were taught of as a cub..to hunt and feed they're pack! and besides, they won't hurt you, unless you provoke them..plus they are very loyal animals!
