Obama tried to Undermine "the Surge". Now, He takes CREDIT. The Cost of War. " Frank Gaffney comments on the Obama's Iraq speech-- taking credit for the victory in Iraq while he opposed every measure that got us here-- on CNBC with Larry Kudlow. Also, Lawrence Korb of the far-left Center for the American progress. Prior to and during his presidential bid in 2008, Obama was deeply critical of the U.S. effort to oust Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and essentially impose democracy on the country. The U.S. president said Monday, however, that he hopes iraq can emerge as a beacon of democracy for a region in tumult amid the so called Arab Spring. He suggested such progress is part of the legacy of US troops who fought and died in Iraq. "We think that a successgul, democratic Iraq can be a model for the entire region", Obama said. I give him credit not for the war but for bringing back the American from Iraq. I didn't expect him to say that the war was not successful after what the American have gone through and too many life lost. This would have killed the spirit of the soldiers returning home.

So you think it wasn't successful? And the only reason he could bring the troops back, is because it was successful, right? Come on...

If I may ask you, what do you think the war achieved apart from removing Sadam from the power? He brought the troops back home because it was one of his agenda during campaign but not because the war was successful.
