Good and bad images of your country : what ?

I think each country has bad or good image. You would see and listen there were some people bad mouth about your country, no matter how strong, beautiful, organized your country was, the country has still bad images on other people and we couldn't deny on someone who has badmouthed your country?
I don't think that the bad image was not truly bad. They're pointless sometime and didn't really knew about a certain country that we've been talking about. Do you think that your country has bad images and the good images. Did ever hear people bad mouth your country. Thank you for sharing and Have a nice day

I love our country, The Philippines 
I could see the bad things that other nations see in our country as well so I am not hiding that fact. One bad thing that I admit we have is how the politics is very dirty. Though I won't go further into that.
We have several goodness in our nation and people. Filipinos are very warm and friendly and hospitable. We are also very resilient and courageous.
Though we have the tendency to love the products of other countries especially those of the third world ones, it could be blamed for the colonization that we received when the Philippines was occupied by other countries. We are now struggling with what we call "love our own" but I am sure, we will get there

I do really love my country as well. Like I said before that each nation has bad image and positive image. so, why we must be worried because there are may negative inputs of our country from people outside. They seemed that they thought they have known everything, but they didn't. I was bothered to listen to them speaking of my ugly country.

It is best not pay attention to those who say something bad about our country. Let us just use their words to help ourselves develop even more. Take the criticisms constructively as how others put it :)

Well...when i make a discussion here..the other member try to relate me with my country...
I guess they think that Indonesian is related to terrorist and fanatic Islam
That is a stereotype for me..i am a moslem in indonesia but that does not make me as a terrorist. I believe and hold on tight in the islam principle but i do respect other religion

ifa, thats the same situation occurs for all moslem in the whole world..
many mass media missinterpretate about islam and terorist..
so if the people is not moslem and always attack anybody else, they are not terorist, because they are not moslem..
it`s not fair..
so its our duty to clarify that moslem can live peacefully with another people who are not moslem..
why they must be scared of us ??

I knew just little message about Islam teaching. I am not an Islam. I once did thinking that Muslim is a terrorist especially what is know as Jihad. I have a lot of friend from Muslim and I have never had any debate about our different perception and religion as well. It is not us who have a concept that Muslim country is nest for terrorist, but they are outsider who didn't really understand about Muslim religion and country as well.
I think there is enough time to prove to them that Muslim could also live peacefully with other religion or sect.

Yes, you're right. It is not necessary to listen to their insulting. There is no use of listening too much, otherwise it only adds hurt ourselves because of our defensive feeling we were blind and finally we were just the same like the insulter.

They are useless who bad mou. There was not so important to debate or defend our county in front of other people, because they mostly wouldn't listen and understood. I enough old to understand that life would not ever be the same so do the country state as well.

Our country being a member to the third world category has a lot of negatives comments coming from those people coming from affluent countries. It's not really that bad to be considered as a poor country, but to be badmouthed as a country of thieves, and other bad elements, is so discouraging. Add to it calling our country as a country of "Domestic Helpers" or "country of Caregivers and Housemaids"...Oh..it's degrading, and most blatant comment I heard is that our country is among the top corrupt countries of the world. But inspite of all of this negative picture, I still consider our country a beautiful place...There are still more number of people living here who have love for God and for their fellow men...and thanks to the like of Manny Pacquiao and Charice Pempengco and other outstanding Filipino figures who gave honors to our country, the Philippines...

Yes, you are correct. We have long stretch of nice beach, crystal clear water, underwater world are all. We have also huge natural resources and there are some countries getting rich by taking away our resources like coal, gold and mine as well. I think people who speak about his or her country. Moreover, people who have big participation or involvement in our natural aren't thankful for being in Indonesia

I believe all countries have both a negative and a positive image. A country is built of the people that are in the country and each individual has good as well as bad qualities. I am thankful to be in the country that I am in, though I know there are other countries that are better than the country I now live in. There are also countries out there that have it much worse than my country. It is great when countries can bring out the best in each other.

I love my country but I'm not blinded by some of the faults my countrymen make that give my country a bad image. And I've heard a few negative comments about our country coming from even noted personalities. A lot of people are judgmental and sometimes make hasty conclusions. I mean, let's say they had happened to stay in a place where they saw a cockroach and they conclude the whole country is dirty.

The way people insulted my country was out of my hope and hateful in me . They insult the country where they're living is they are most stupidity and not nationalism, especially people from other country were they not civilized and not polite. You know what I think if people bad mouth, I only took the positive point of their opinion to be appointed as not developed and modernized people as they were expected.

Yes, a number of times. I have heard foreigners and even our local people talks negative things about my country. For me, it is just normal. Every country has its good and bad image. We just have to enjoy life and hope to turn those bad images into good. Sometimes if I feel someone talks bad about our people, I try to defend in as much as I can - because if I did not, it's like accepting that I also have a bad reputation as what the person is describing.

To accept something that we didn't do or were far from our eyes or look. I am working with a German guy, he always badmouth and debate about my country. He is also employing some local people who are not really honest when they work. Mostly, the worker come from very poor family. It is hard for me to accept his negative on my colleague, but the fact that they're not really honest and I couldn't defend them as well. He said that mostly Indonesia are beggar, lazy and dishonest. There were nothing I could say to defend them.

Every country must be have their own good and bad sides. There is no need to badmouth about other countries since our own country have its own bad side. Well, i've heard some people from other countries insulting my country too, sometimes i gets angry and try to insulting them too. But now i realize, there is no need to fight too much over that because there is no end to this. I'm just thinks that someone who talks bad about other countries are just a kids that haven't learned any manners and just deny it. I think, as long we are loving our country ourself then its enough.

Yes, always like that, we have so many bad news and I think bad thing will bring good thing if we know how to position ourselves between these opposite things.
