So much going on lately, I've been busy.

There's been quite a bit going on in my life since late last month, it's just unreal. Well, it actually started with the van dying in mid November, but lots of things have been happening, especially since December started. We got our tree up on the weekend, we had to go buy lights for it since we couldn't find ours anywhere. But it's up and that's good, and so far it hasn't been knocked over. After I got my truck, the work finally came in, and I've been working so hard lately, but not seeing any money out of it yet. But there's a reason for this, and it's not amusing to say the least. After working 12 hours the other day, we weren't done the job, so I had to go get more supplies yesterday. My boss's bank card was declined though. When she went to the bank to find out why, she was told that the government had seized her bank accounts. She's behind in filing her taxes, but is slowly getting them done. So, we wasted the morning so she could go home and call them up to find out what she needed to do in order to get the accounts opened again. They were working on this late in the day, so there was no money for me to get paid, which was a disappointment. I wound up buying the supplies we needed, digging into the rent money just to do so. Not a good thing at all. I'm not sure what's going on with that today, I haven't heard from her yet. But she will let me know soon, as we have to pick up the payment for the job we finished yesterday. On to some other stuff. There had been a rumor going around among the temps where my husband works, that there was a raise to be had by him. It wasn't supposed to show on his pay until probably next week. But last week's pay showed the raise, almost $50 per week more than he was making before. So now he's earning $13.50/hr vs $12/hr. The company gave the employees turkeys for Christmas, and included him, because he'd been there for over 2 months. And they were not cheap turkeys either, top brand and a good weight as well. He came home yesterday and was talking to one of the neighbors who knows pretty much everything about the colony of cats outside, including everything about the cat that we have. This makes me think that it was them who had her, and they dumped her outside. When I got home from work yesterday, he surprised me when he told me that he was asked at work if he wanted a full time job there. They're playing with this idea as they're teaching him more and more about the work they do there, and they know he's reliable when it comes to making himself useful when the machines break down. If he was to be hired full time, this would be great. He would be making anywhere from $14-$18/hr. He'd probably have full benefits as well, maybe even a union job, which would prevent him from being fired easily. I don't know what the future has in store for us, but I know that things are finally getting better. We've needed this so badly for a long time. And if he does get hired on full time, we'll finally be able to start a family, and that's what we've wanted to do for a long time. We'll save money up, and this time next year, start trying for a family.

A permanent job for hubby would be great for you guys, sort of a Christmas present to you guys.I may be getting a new job for Christmas as well. It just sounds like your boss is not much of a business person, and I am sorry about that. I know you feel loyal, but she keeps causing you financial woes.

So what was the end result on this? Did he get the full-time position? Did your job situation get any better? I know you work hard and it is time for something good to happen to you. I hope the new year has brought you good news! Have a great summer!!!
