How mature to you think people in the U.S. Congress and U.S. Senate are?

Is it just me or do the U.S. Senators and Assembly Members act more like children than adults? Recently President Obama said that they must pass the extension of the unemployment bill prior to leaving on vacation... When I heard that, I somehow got the image of a mom saying, "Eat your veggies or you won't have desert" to a little kid. I also got the image of a teacher saying, "You can't go out on recess unless you do your schoolwork" to a school kid. I could almost hear the senators and assembly members groaning and saying, "You mean we have to do some work before we go on vacation? Really? But mom! That's unfair." Wondering what your thoughts are on this? Do you think that they are acting like adults at present or like children who just can't get along enough to work together and do anything good for the American people?

Re: the caps, No worries... You just look VERY EXCITED! And maybe also a little irritated... and that would be normal given the situation. It would be interesting if they indeed were forced to live on what "normal people" made and had to really get along with each other and work together like we all are expected to on our jobs.

What do you think of their last activities? The Senate voted to continue to cut taxes for the lower and middle class folks like me and you and to extend unemployment... And the Republicans in the House stalled everything as they want a stupid pipeline which the President, with good reason, has said he would veto. I would like to tell the big bullies of the playground, the Republicans in the House who blocked the tax cut and the unemployment continuation, to grow up and do what they should do, act for the American people and not to continue to act on behalf of their own special interests and partisan politics as their actions are just a bit immoral and irritating. I plan never again to vote for any Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives again.
