How small can the verification payments be?

I haven't verified my Bank account with PayPal yet. Today I received a few messages from my bank saying that very small amounts (Re 1.something) have been deposited to my account. I read a discussion on mylot saying that a guy got Rs40.something debited to his account.
So is it possible that the amounts are the PayPal verification amounts? Because, this is the year end and I may have received some interests or something which I'm not sure about.

I too got those same amounts as verifications, one of Re 1 and the other of Re 1.16.
Let me tell you something, paypal isn't going to deposit that much amount (Rs 40) in to anyone's account as verification payment. Its just meant to see whether the payment is reaching the right place or not. The guy might be having that debt because of some other reason but not verification.

for verify your account paypal crdit your account by 2 cent or 3 cent. and you get this amount within 5-6 working days...once you received you put the amount in paypal and your account will limit free...so you can start any type of transaction.

actually paypal is not giving out money, when you verified your account thy took a certain pay from your bank nor credit card and you might not notice it then after few days they will returned the money to your account as they're way to make sure that your bank nor credit card is real and not fake account.

You can always check Paypal's fees schedule. Some fees differ depending on country, amount, conversion rates. I had my account verified and I had around 2.25 USD fee.

The verification paypal by credit card in my country (Indonesia) is $1.95,-.
Do you have problem about getting verification on Paypal ?

During verification paypal credited two small amount in my account i.e 1.02 and 1.03 and asked to fill on my paypal account to verified account. After giving input they verified my bank account.
