I was just reading this book "Science at Work" and there was this page where it showed pictures of how man might one day live his life- in the near future where gadgets do everything for him. bathes him, gives him food, cleans everything- everywhere you look there are gadgets to help us.. It may sound cool at first but then what are we left t do? We become lazy and life wouldn't be so fun... everything is so robotic and serious?

Yes life would really become lazy and boring, nothing to do, but at the same time our burden will be reduced and we will be relaxed. Both positive and negative effects.

you're right it will make more people dumb and too much dependence on technology. not to mention when the lights are out they will have a hard time depending much on manual stuff. the only high tech stuff that I do is on the computer but i do manual on the laundry

Yeah, there is always a positive and negative to everything. We can't just judge yet which one outweighs the otehr since we haven't really experienced it in full yet.

Perhaps it would be exactly like in Wall-e movie..(^^) Do nothing not even walking and have leisure all the time...Can we called that leisure? Yeah, leisure time but not fun at all?(^^) I don't want to live in such world. I can accept the use of gadgets and how they can help us in daily life but not till that way. That is just not right. I will not even want to called that as life as it has no life at all~(^^)

yeah, then we all become obese people always sitting in wheelchairs. I hope that people who had watched Wall E will get scared of the future and not even think of copying it.. There are lots of things to learn from that film by the way.

I hope they do still keep some of the old fashioned do it yourself stuff. ARe they going to be weeding and planting gardens too? I would hate to see this fully come to being. Robotic is so boring. I can see where the hyper folks would get tired of waiting for the robot to do the work.

I hope they don't do all the chores that humans are supposed to. Although, they can do more work than us since they never get tired and work fast, I kind of eny doing chores sometimes- it takes my mind off things..

I don't want to be lazy when that happens. Robotics is meant to help human race be comforting and less pain in their work and not make them look lazy or something like that. this reminded me of the movie the matrix as to how the human race were destroyed by the machines they built to protect them and make their place suitable paradise.

Yeah, the matrix is quite a scary view of the future- although it is possible seeing how fast people develop new technology these days. I also saw those other future movie like Minority Report and I Robot, where machines do almost everything for them.

hello lady1993, I think, It Is not impossible that someday it would happen, where the gadgets do most of the work in our daily lives and people will might become lazy . but, I would like to think it in positive ways . I mean, yeah, there will no more stress, we'll no longer being in hurry like nowadays, plus, there's almost nothing to worry, and the risky jobs like the policeman, bomb squad, etc. aren't risky as before, think of others, like the poor peoples around the world might no longer exist anymore, and, we all could spend times with our loved ones, with families . I heard, in Japan, they are currently working in building a machine, which is a robot and it will be used to do simple and routine work . I think, the possibilities is coming true .
