Is it really difficult to stop smoking or is it all in the mind?

Is it really difficult to stop smoking or is it all in the mind? I am a smoker who is trying to quit. I find it difficult but I believe it is all in the mind I plan on quitting now. I have to think of the reason why and let that spur me.

*I am also not a smoker so I really don't know. My brother smokes and we constantly tell him to stop but he does not want to. For some cases where it is already an addiction, I really do think it is hard to quit. People are more resilient than they give there self credit to so I think people who tried to quit sets themselves up to fail when they have a negative mind set from the beginning like 'Oh this is not going to work' or something similar to that.

I think it is a mind think and addictions are hard, I think you have to replace an addiction with another maybe sweets or something but then doctors these days have things like patches and things, I have two friends one being told that if he doesn't give up he will not have long to live as his lungs are in very bad shape, for him that was enough, my other friend went on gradual patches and now he is no longer a smoker so it can be done you just need to think of the benefits and the main benefir is your life...

That's really good that you think that way! By doing this, it might make quitting a little easier for you. I'm not going to tell you what it's really like though because I don't want to make it harder for you to quit. Good luck!
