I have bibolar disorder. I can live with it, but I can't be without medicine. I have type 1. It's hardest type in this condition. I think so because I haven't been any other types such as type 2. But tell me, can you be without medicine? And how? Have you type 2. and you have not had mania at all?

Interesting questions, I had to make a search to find out more about this disorder.. I have no idea how to treat it, but most of us get some disorder since we live in a world that is full of problems. It is impossible to not be affected. I have tried to cope with depression and found out that one cause can be a thyroid imbalance. I got the advice to take wheat germ oil and in some newsletters I have read about the benefits of Coconut oil. Algae have iodine, which is an important nutrient and can help a slow thyroid. Dr Joaquín Gonzales Aragón has written about good fats and bad fats and I read his book some years ago. He recommends Omega3 fats. Lack of good fats, according to him, can cause ADHD and many other disorders in our brain. I think bad fats can do the same. More than half of our brain is fat, so it must be important for the brain to get good fats..

My bipolar disorder is so serious that I can't live without using of chemical medicine. Medicines to prevent mania and psychosis. I've tried to depression berberine and fish oils, but sometimes I also need a antidepressant which gives sleep at night. Sometimes when I need to the antidepressant stimulant in the morning then berberine is enough. Stabilizing of mind I have to eat chemical medicine. But medicines stops my own of thyroid function, and I have to eat thyroxin hormone. But if I don't eat my medicines, I can be very quickly in the hospital. I haven't been in six years. But First time I went in hospital, I be there three months and one night in sleep bindings. Hard to think about it :-) But today is better to be. Ten years my doctor looking for me some good medicines, but now I have. But nowdays people are not perfectly healthy. I wait God's new world, where Bible telling to you: Isaiah 33:24 "And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity." (King James Bible)

That sounds really serious, my friend, no wonder you have to take medicine. It is a good thing you have this doctor who can take care of you. And it is great that you are feeling better! We all look forward to the new world when we are not sick any more.. Today I started listening to the Bible from Genesis and hope to reach to Revelation until December this year! Let´s see how it goes! It is so uplifting to listen to the readers and I am learning so much..

I suffer from Bi-polar as well, and I respond very well to my medication. I am currently not taking medication due to other health issues. I have found that people outside my home see me as a more lively person, but at home, I feel like I treat my family terribly. I prefer being on my medication simply because it makes me more level in attitude and behavior. If you have issues with your medication, such as the thyroid issue, I would speak to a psychiatrist and see if there are other options that may work for you. I went through 5 different medications before finding the right combination of anti-depressant and bi-polar medications. What works for one person doesn't always work so well for another. Now days, they have made so many advances with medication, having found that anti-seizure medication can help too.

I've been using for eleven years, twenty-five different medicines. I know that now I have best medication. Next choice would have been the lithium.
