Travel magazines can be quite expensive like the Sunday Times Travel Magazine and Real Travel. I prefer to borrow travel guide books from my local library. Then I buy the ones I like most from Amazon a on-line shop. I like Lonely Planet, Rough Guides and Foot Print. I have been given some large travel books which are full of very tempting photos. How about you?

It is lovely that you are keen on travel books. It was superb that your dad bought you some travel books that you found enjoyable to look at and interesting.

I hardly ever buy travel magazines. I have seen some of them in the shops, and they look pretty interesting, but they are really expensive. I like to borrow travel guidebooks at the library. Last time I went to the library I borrowed a lot of travel guidebooks about Asia, because I hope to visit Asia next time. My favourite travel guidebook is Lonely planet, but I have used Rough Guides and Foot Print, too. There are also Danish travel guidebooks, but I think that Lonely planet is much better. In the Danish travel guidebooks they describe the sights, but there isn't much practical information and I need that kind of information because I prefer to plan my own trips.

In Lonely Planet I am keen on the maps, the travel to next place information and the accommodation listings. I have the book called South America on a Shoestring. I feel lucky that I speak English and so many guide books are available for me to read. The Danish language guide books sound like they don't give you enough detail. Good luck planning your trip to Asia. I love visiting the libraries near where I live.

I like to flip through them sometimes. I think there is a lot of great information in them for the potential traveler. I would probably buy one if I were planning a trip but I don't normally just buy them. They can certainly be very tempting..lol...I am needing a vacation anyway.

I love travel books. If you like reading, go to Vacations to go and get a close up personal view when the owner of this travel company goes on a tour somewhere. He details it so beautifully its like he is painting the picture in our minds before us. With illnesses I have I know there are countries I will never be able to do but to have them described so wonderfully and even get to see the pictures he took on his travels, I love getting the emails from this company. This is the only company I use to book my cruises through. We will be booking through them to see Alaska in 2012. I am excited and can hardly wait for the next cruise. But I know Alan will have many trips to write about and keep me entertained with all that he gets to see. Check the site out you might enjoy reading some of his writings. Specially if you love to travel!

to like books and magazines when I traveled on trips I always read. even when using public transport I read the press so save your time and do two things at once. I like these things so much in my bag and there is always something to read. nice day!

I do really liek travel magazines - I buy the big 4 ones including Sunday times and Conde Nast as well as travel books occasionally or sometimes guides when I am going away. In particular, I like Lonely planets best in travel series which they bring out every year. I have just bought the 2012 edition so am looking forward to reading that.

I don't like the books but I definitely love the magazines ! I love to travel and learn new things so of course it make sense for me to love reading those magazines! I don't like the books cause they can be quite tedious to read at times and if compared to magazines, they are sometimes outdated. Magazines are usually published monthly so they are more updated. Also, magazines have way more pictures! And when I can't travel to that place, picture is the best option I have!
