what kind of gift you would prepare for your friend's birthday?

One of my friend's birthday is coming, but I still have no idea to buy what kind of gift, he is male, he has his own girlfriend, not me, we are good friends. what's your suggestion on it?

Oh I think men are the hardest to buy for, it depends on if he has a particular hobby, if he has a girlfriend a nice photo of the two of them in a nice frame would be nice, or a nice bottle of something or there is always the toiletries or socks
