I'm no longer a child, when I was I read this book and it made such an impression on me that may many years later I spent quite some time searching for it, through the character names, the creature names etc. I couldn't rememebr the title and eventually I went to the bg childrens library in town and chatted to the staff, who gave me a couple of hints. This is a fabulous book, aimed at children who like adventure (and can deal with being a litle bit scared) the action start from about page 3 of the book and carries right through to the last page. I would fully recommend it (but you're not borrowing my copy!!)
