Why is it when you tell a man there are 400 billion stars in the world they will believe you but when you tell them there's wet paint, he has to touch it? Does that happen to you myLotters, that you tell something to a friend or family that is very hard to believe yet they believe. But something very easy to believe they need prove of it. Please share you experiences.

Its because the complicated stuff is out of their reach and they dont like to be fooled for that which they can easily reach, like wet paint. You tell them fantasies and fully imaginative nonsense and they will believe you cause they can neither attempt to prove it nor bother about doing so. They'll say "Wow.." and simply add it to their so called "awesome things" list. But when you tell them simple but less known facts then you are messing with them on their own turf, and man .. you'd surely loose. Cause they wont let you prove them wrong. Somebody said it right - "Dont argue with a fool. They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience".

They wont let you destroy their concepts so easily... afterall it took them years to develop them...

Wow, I think you have just put in the exact words for the whole discussion! people say the crappiest of things and everybody who is listening to it, go like.. Wow that is amazing, that is just like a miracle, or that is so great!!! but when you tell them something small, they go like that can not be possible, that just wont happen, or you cant do that!!! because they know that we shall show the prove!! Next time I will make sure I do not go down with the fools!! lol, surely dont want to get to their level!! Another good saying: Curiosity killed the cat!!

You cannot touch the stars. You can touch paint, chairs, cars or other stuff. That's why.....

Ya I guess its in our human nature.. to be suspicious, to know everything that is within our reach!! but sometimes I wish we could just believe!!

Yes, I have been through that. When things which are easy to believe, they make things hard. I don't know maybe they are reluctant to believe for some reasons like they are just being fooled.

Well I guess some people just think how can that person do that, its like they start questioning their ownself. Just because you cant do it doesnt mean the rest cant either.. I guess thats how it goes... Whatever is in the reach grab it and question it.. whatever is not, just swallow it and believe it!!
