What are your saving tips in this time of crisis?

We always have to live within our means. We have a lot of ways to be a savvy consumer. What are the things you do to be able to have an extra penny/money to save? Mine is that I always bring my own food to work instead of buying in the fast food/restaurant.

For me, buying list is essential. I can avoid unimportant thing when buy something. Small research might work too. Every store had own price (at same product) and the different will count.
I didn't use coupon as advantage when I buy something because sometimes I have to buy unnecessary thing. Example: If I want to use my coupon I have to buy 2 product but what I really need just 1. I'll better not to use it and give it to someone else.
