My stepson got me a Nook for Christmas, and it was the best gift I got!! I started toolking around and noticed that Barnes and Noble carry alot of FREE ebooks. Didn't really hold out much hope that any would be that good, but by chance I came across three by the same author with pretty good reviews. The fourth was just released on January 7th, which was great as I had already read the first three and was definately wanting more of the characters! The first book in the series is The Mating. It follows Elise, who is a shapeshifter, the daughter of her pack's Alpha. She is pushed into an arranged mating with the alpha of another pack. The story starts of slowly, but you find yourself rooting for things to wrok out between Elise and her new mate, Kane. The second book is The Keeping. It follows Melody, a reporter who is hired by a mysterious collecot of wolf art, to interview the photographer, Ryne, (half brother of Kane who was introduced near the end of The Mating), regarding an interesting photo he had taken...that was never supposed to be seen outside of the community. "The Keeping" refers to an ancient law stating that the top priority is to keep the existance of Lycans secret, and those who know could endanger not only themselves, but potentially the entire pack that is discovered. The Finding, the third installment, follows Bryan, who is Ryne's Beta, and Cassie, who just discovered that she was a were by accident at the end of The Keeping. It really picks up the pace more than the first two, with lots of intrigue! And you get to reconnect with characters from both previos stories. Near the end, there is a brief mention of a rogue werewolf named Damien...... Bonded is the most recent release, and it is the story of Reno and Brandi, who both work for Lycan Link. Reno and his partner, Damien, are Enforcers who are trying to rid the Lycan world of "Purists" who do awful things to half-bloods. LOTS of action in this one! I highly reccomend taking a look at these novels...did I mention that they are free?? The author only asks that if you like her work, you make a donation to your local animal shelter!
