I have used Paypal for a few time now, as all know Paypal does not have any fee when you send money, but there is a fee when you receive money in your Paypal account, days ago I have received a payment, but i was surprised when i receive the full amount of the payment without any fee. in the payment details I can see: "Fee amount: $0.00 USD" and i ask you: Do you know why Pyapal didn't take any fee? Do you know if the sender has a special type of account in Paypal for their receivers not pay any fee? Any comment about this would be so useful to me as I receive payments so often in Paypal. Thanks for your attention to all...

Paypal charges a fee to receive money for services or goods. If the money is sent for personal reasons such as a gift, money owed, or living expenses there is no charge.

So you can send money as a gift without pay fees? neither the sender or receiver? I've not seen any option to do this...

I have sent money in some occasions, and I don't remember to see any option like you mention, I just remember being asked for payment due to "products" or "services" payment...

If money is requested, the option doesn't exist. If you are the one sending money you have the choice of sending it as a purchase or personal. Choose personal and under it you can choose cash advance, gift, payment owed, living expense or other. Anything sent for personal reasons doesn't have a fee. When I work for my sisters website she sends me the money as a personal transaction and neither of us get any fees.

Hello there vick Same here. I sometimes receive money from paypal without any charge too. This made me wonder what could be the reason but I cannot figure it out till now. Sometime last year, I read from somewhere that paypal does not charge any payment for a certain month. It is just like bonus for users. I am not sure this month if they do the same.

Irene66, Its strange to hear that a Big Online Bank, who earns only because of the transactions, is lifting up the payments for a month.... I think It may be fake, If yes, i am very eager to know the month so that i can clear all my pending transactions on that month... :) Cheers..!! V

I don't know nothing about a special month on Paypal, I have used paypal about a year and never heard abut that. I don't believe this is the reason because I made a revision and by casualty I have another payment from the same person and in this is the same case, no fees for me ate the moment of receiving the money, I didn't see in that time a couple of months ago.

My last two money transfers to my PayPal account, fees were taken from my payments. Therefore, I do not know what PayPal is doing; this probably is just a mistake or temporary situation. I hope it continues because I will be getting paid again soon.

I think Paypal always charge fee from receive money, you were received money without fee because, fee charged by sender, always any agreement.....on special account type. It was depend on sender account type, based on my experienced, when I was received payment, some sites charge fee and other are free. Free because, sender charge direct on my earned money before transfer to paypal.

Yes I think the correct answer is the fee payed by the ssender, but now the doubt is: can you pay the fee as sender if you have a personal account? or do you need a business account?

Vick77, Yes there is a possible way to pay the charges of your Receiver by yourself. This is called as Merchant services from PayPal. For that you need to have a Paypal Buisness account.. It will have certain formalities to complete.. For that you need the following.. 1) A PayPal Buisness account 2) Your PAN card 3) Your Bank account in your country 4) A purpose code 5) Your postal address,, Not only these, if you are doing an e-buisness, it will be easy to set up, otherwise it will be somewhat difficult to comply with it.. Cheers..!! V

Hi Vick77, PayPal charges their customers for receiving money from other accounts for certain cases, (i) Charge when money conversion is required (i.e) If your bank is using Euro and the payee pays in dollars, then a Dollar to Euro conversion is required, for that paypal will charge of 2.5% (ii) If you are an active user and also periodically making transactions with PayPal, then they will give a small amount of discount for your transactions (iii) Of course, Some big companies using PayPal for their full time business management will pay your receiving charge themselves, since it will attract their customers.. Hope this helps you.. Cheers..!! V

Hi thanks for your response, I'm start to think the point iii is the answer, maybe some companies pay the fees for the transactions. The question now is, when you send money, are there an option to pay the fees yourself and this way avoid your receiver to pay it? Do you need to have a different type of account beyond personal one? Do you need a special configuration in you account to do that?
