I had a good friend from Canada, he's a police officer there. He was originated from UK but opted to settle in Canada. He's married now to my friend. We got to see each other whenever he's coming here in my country. We chat a lot, even my daughter is his friend and got a lot of speaking english teaching in video chat. My daughter loves him too. He's inviting my family in his place in Alberta but sad we have no budget for that *sigh!... but looking forward to that *LOL

Thanks yaso, but that would be possible if I won a lottery now *LOL My 10 year old daughter finds the teaching very helpful to her. She's confident in speaking some English at home and in school. But of course, she has to do more practices and talking to be fluent. I admire her willingness to learn. Having here on MyLot takes us to foreign world too of our foreign friends in here. I love hanging here on MyLot! Seems you too my friend!

Like you, I like having friends from other countries since I also am very interested to learn something of their culture. And what better way to do so than to have a friend telling you about it. I mean, we could read articles and books on other people's culture but I feel it's better to have a friend telling me about it :) Most of my foreigner-friends and colleagues are Americans though since they're the ones who I have always met here where I live.

hello yaso4u, Ask for me, I have a tons of foreign friend. As I don't really mind what your nationality is. As long as you have the right and proper attitude, then, nationality is not a big deal. Although, there are some guys who are really identified in terms of their nationalities and their countries but this is not applicable to all.

Airasheila, we are under a single roof called earth. Hence nationality is not an issue but I like to know the different cultures by making friendship with foreign peoples. There is a saying'opposite poles attract each other easily', so people who lives in different culture can easily be friends

When I was living in the north of Denmark my neighbour was a girl from Indonesia. She has been married to a Dane and she has been living in Denmark for several years. She went to language school and she had many classmates from around the world. I meet many of her classmates and I got the chance to talk to people from Thailand, the Phillippines, Brazil, Ghana and many other places. It was very interesting to meet them and learn more about their countries. Manuy years ago I lived in a big city in my country and there was a place called "International house". They had cultural evenings, concerts and many other things and I met a lot of foreigners there. Unfortunately we don't have that kind of place on the island where I live now, and I think that there are relatively few foreigners here, but I would love to meet new people from around the world
