Here in America we have a freedom, and that is a freedom to believe in our God. And Christianity is the red herring to almost all bashes on religion because it is the most well-known. They can pick apart the teachings in the Bible which can in turn be taken literally to their ends. It is easy to market Christians as "hatemongerers" and such because they can twist it that way. Sure there are bad Christians that help them but then they stop seeing us as individuals, and if they do see us as individuals, they say we are going against the Word yet not really understanding it themselves. Literalism is an evil and dangerous thing when dealing with Christianity on both sides. Those who read the Bible should keep in mind that it is full of hyperboles and translated from Arabic which is full of strange wordplay to make up for a limitation of words. Context and this are important. All-in-all, we need to stop this negative cycle and move past discrimination. It is true that Christianity is one of the biggest today.
