Does Nuclear Energy really offers all the solution of Global Warming issues?

I've just learned that nuclear has more advantages than the any other power sources have. -Nuclear needs uranium which is abundant on Earth. -Uranium cost is relatively cheap. -Nuclear has a relatively longer lifespan. -No direct environmental impact generated, in other words no air pollution, water pollution (I have to admit that nuclear generates psychological pollution a.k.a fear of nuclear meltdown). -Capability to generate high amount of electricity. And many more advantages that cannot be mentioned. So what do you guys think? Should we support nuclear as the primary solution of global warming? Do you agree with this slogan; 'go green, go nuclear'? Answer and helps Earth for a better future! Thank you.

Nuclear did provide clean energy source for mankind, it is also one of a few viable alternatives to the solution on global warming issue, but the science on harnessig nuclear energy from heavy metal elements like uranium has not yet fully understand by many country's so called nuclear experts especially from the side of human and environmental safety perspective, let alone many of the safety measures recommended by scientists are not adopted by for-profit nuclear industry in their nuclear facility, often human and environmental safety consideration is override by profit motivation in corporation's profit maximization drive, making nuclear energy one of the most dangerous clean energy source for any nation presently. Until nuclear industry can fully comply strictly with the recommended safety rule and regulation drafted by international atomic energy department, and nuclear facility can be built in far away remote locale where it is proven earth-quake and tsunamic free zone, through proper personnel training and with a well thought out emergency plan in place, nuclear energy should only constitute a small percentage of a total energy source for every nation on earth. History had shown that human error and corporate greed often lead to monumental disaster in nuclear acccident where loss of many innocent life is inevitable had taught us it shouldn't be used as primary solution on global warming yet in its present stage.

So, regardless from the human error and corporate greed, do you really think that nuclear is the best energy source at now? Many non-renewable energy sources cannot be environmentally friendly and many renewable energy sources cannot meet the required demands of growing electricity worldwide.

Unfortunately, one can not disregard of all these probability like human error and corporate greed in the process of harnessing nuclear energy from uranium, the reason is simple, this clean energy source is extremely dangerous without first acquire thorough knowledge and understanding, proper handling and utmost safety measures in place. The radioactive material releaze from any nuclear facility accident has long lasting desvastated effect on human health and will bring enormous environmental adverse impact. The incident that took place in Japan should serve as a hard lesson for all who have some brain to learn and provide a glimpse of how complicated this technology is other than just a renewable or clean energy source if it is not handled with utmost caution and with full understanding of its devastating impact in the aftermath of a disaster. Obviously Japanese government had fail to learn from the incident in Chernobyl nuclear plant fully, and allow such facility to build along a earth-quake and tsunamic zone is the gravest hubris ever place upon all Japaneses people for profit sake.

i think Nuclear energy is one of the alternatives in our energy solution.. with the good management of Nuclear, maybe it was a great substitute from petroil which is rare material.. but when tsunami happens in Japan and some of the place make several Nuclear plants had been broken and it cause many pollution for some of water and food in Japan, the next answer is "it is true that nuclear energy is really safe for mankind"??

Hi!I think it will help but I believe it might cause pollution in a way and might affect the people living near the vicinity of a nuclear plant. This is what environmentalist claim, that is why although nuclear power will help solve the energy crises it will jeopardize the health of the people. That's what I know.

solar energy, wind power could be the solution i think haha , nuclear energy causes damage to the earth because uranium is a toxic metal and emits radiation and is the cause of some cancer cases.

Probably yes because it is a source of energy, which is cleanest source so far. Moreover it has lot of energy which you will get by burning 1000 times or more of coal than nuclear source. But as their is always pros and cons of every side, latest disaster in Japan is one of the cons that world has seen recently. But still we cab bet big on nuclear energy with safety guidelines followed without any lapses.
