Is it good to update online profile frequently

My dear friends I have seen a lot of people online frequently update their profile, either profile photo, or some funky name, list goes on. Do they get any benefits from this ?

i cant speak for them because i dont. but i don't see anyone changing their names and photos here.. do you?

Not only here my friend but across the world of internet many sites gives opportunity to create profile. Many of them update their profile regularly...

when kind of online sites you are talking about? is it facebook kind of social networking sites?? then i would say that the sites which people generally visit regularly and have more acquaintances and friends they might do that as per the present state in his/her life.. i more or less update my profile pic or update my status whenever i feel like aharing something with my friends on the sites. i find it good way of keeping others and yourself updating to yourself and to others.
