Singer to actors,actors to singers

This is something I noticed with the showbiz industry around the world, Its easier for singers to crossover to acting than for an actor or actress to crossover to singing.I know there are cases of singers who failed to have acting careers and actors who managed to have a singing career but when it comes to success rate I had seen more singers who succeed trying to have an acting career, Most actors and actresses who tried to have an album failed, some of them can actually sing but no one buys their albums, not even their fans, but their fans do watches their movies.
Why do you think its easier for singers to transition into acting?
Why do you think Popular actors and actresses usually failed at singing despite of their fame.

well some actors and actresses can actually sing but their fans rather see them act. But yeah acting is easier to learn than act.In a way singers "act" in their music videos.

I think if you can sing and you're an actor it would be an easy crossover, as a singer if they can act then crossover easy.
The failure I would think is when one tries to do another they can't. Like I can't sing or act so I don't do either :P

I think it's about people's personal tastes. May be because of the way the stuff is promoted

These days almost all singers are required to make at least one music video to promote their single/album. So they get some experience from acting from there.
Actors, however, hardly ever play a role where they have to sing. So they do not train their voice and are less confident of being able to sing nicely I suppose.

and fans dont seem to take them seriously if they attempted to release their albums. Lots of actors and actresses can sing but there are the ones who can sing but ignored by people and not given a chance cos people dont take them seriously for being actors,.

I dont really think singing is that looked down, since we had seen singers who succeed for doing movies. but yeah actors fail when they try to sing.
