Why old Filipino TV shows are not DVD compiled?

American TV shows from the 40's, 50's, 70's and 80's are compiled on DVD for some nostalgic people to watch. I just realized the only TV shows our country that has homevideo compilation are the ones from year 2000's. Even the 90's shows dont have compilation. I was thinking that it could be for lack of demand but some old American TV shows with homevideo compilations dont even high demands. On the other hand it makes it easier for TV networks to remake old shows without having fans compare it to the original since they dont have a source material. This is the reason why most of the old TV shows from our country have no wikipedia article, there is no source material.

I believe the failure to compile the old movies was not due to lack of interest or demand. There will always be people who will be nostalgic on the movies produced in the 50's. What seems to be the problem was the lack of facilities to preserve the old films. There was one article I read that the preservation of movies involves a big sum of money since a controlled environment must be maintained. I believe it was the late FPJ who initiated the efforts at preserving most of the films that the he has produced and starred in for prosperity. There were a few lucky producers who were able to maximize their profits by preserving some of the earlier films that has been produced and which we now see on TV.

though I was talking about tv shows not movies, that could be the case of many old tv shows never had a chance to be compiled, there could be no more copies left. But even the 90's Tv shows dont have compilation.

The lack of technology may be the first reason why we did not preserve any of our old movies

To be honest, I am not a fan of movies that are being remake. I rather watch the old ones rather the new ones.. here is why... The old movies or tv shows, actors and actresses really show emotion, they convey what is the real story. Some filipino movies/tv shows these days are not cool even they are a remake of an old show, because actors and actresses are just acting for the money, I don't feel the them even acting like a character of a show at all. There are some actors and actresses who are in the showbiz world because of their beauty but when you see them act it is like..."uh...huh...". Honestly, only a few filipino actors and actresses who for me show real emotion on a movie and the rest it is blank to me... That is why I am picky with Filipino movies/shows and prefer American movies/shows. I am not being a racist or something but it is a fact for me, I used this common quote all the time when we go see a movie, "It is not the story that sells a movie, it is the actor who protrays the character properly is what sells the movie/show". And it would be nice to the video industry to do compilations of old movies/shows, it will really sell to most people. I am sorry if I have offended anyone here..

Filipino actors can actually act, the problems are directors and writers, I dont know about acting but keannu reeves and megan fox cant act to save their lives, the problem in our showbiz industry is its youthcentric, Look they make ttenagers play roles like business tycoons and lawyers. In Hollywood the age 30 is were actors and actresses gets famous . In the Philippines you will lose your relevance when you are 30, except from few exceptions. Most actors and actress on their 30's are playing parent roles. Basically the good actors and actresses were demoted to support roles cos they were too "old" your response just inspired me to make another discussion.
